Well, our camping season came to a crashing halt. I was waxing the camper and fell off the ladder, broke my leg (tibia) in 2 or 3 places. Surgery scheduled for Monday and not allowed to put any weight on that leg for at least 12 weeks. My wife says that's the last time I'll be waxing a camper.

Oh no! That sounds really painful. I hope you mend quickly and yes, next time just take it to the dealer for a wash and wax.

Sorry to hear that. I wish you a speedy recovery.
I guess that's a good reinforcement of the way I take care of washing/waxing the rv... I call the mobile guys to the campground a couple of times a year.

The offer still stands except for finishing waxing you trailer. The DW hates it whenever I go up on a ladder. Long story I tell you about it some day.

Thanks everyone! Surgery is confirmed for Monday. We'll see how I feel about ladders after I'm healed up physically and psychologically. Blue Beacon may become my friend. Chuck, I hope she waits until you get down to yell at you!

Surgery was successful. Non-weight bearing for 12 weeks and rehab to learn to walk again. I am feeling a hundred times better than I was, just a thousand more to go. Got some new fancy hardware: a rod, a plate and screws. Is it normal to feel like a wood-shop project? LOL

Wow ... sorry to hear of your accident. I avoid ladders and roofs because I don’t trust myself. Like Darrell, I pass my washing and waxing duties to others. Hope your recovery goes smoothly and you are good as new when it’s over.

Hi Ed, I'm doing ok. Most of the pain is gone except a little bit of the incision burn once in awhile. It's just a waiting game now for the bones to have healed enough for me to start putting weight on them again. 12 to 16 weeks is the average wait time they said. I still get tired pretty easily.
Definitely missing our annual boondocking trip that is going on all this week. DW was kind enough to drive me out there last night and we supped with the group and hung out for a few hours before I had to call it quits.

Well johnr glad you are on the med, we have a knee replaced a few years back, have a pin an plates in my right ankle an no knee cap in my right leg, to boot they cross stitched wire when I had open heart surgery in my chest in 1994 ... So when I walk into a airport check-in line I just tell them I have more scrap metal in me than a junk yard LOL
Also you will find out that some places/shops have metal sensors an you can set them off at times, Walgreen's comes to mind, always fun when you set the alarm off going in LOL
Anyway glad you are on the med, an we pray for a speed an great recovery so you can get back to Glamping

I'm glad the surgery was successful. You'll soon be known as Bionic John.
