I have a 2011 KZ Sportsmen 19BH. The raising and lowering handle on one side is in rough shape. It is nearly broken off. It still works, but is about ready to completely break off. I am likely going to need to replace it with the whole frame piece with handle attached. It is a 10 foot awning if that matters. I don't know if these awnings are specific to individual makers or if they are all pretty generic where it will easy to find a replacement and maybe even locally? Here is a photo of the frame piece and handle in question. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

You should have received a manual for the awning. Knowing the brand and model number would really help. See if the part you need is here.

Lynnmor: Thanks for that link. I don't see what I need there. The problem is, I dont have access to the camper right now. I won't until Thursday. I was hoping to get the replacement part ahead of time so I could fix it right away when I get it back.
I do think I figured out the brand. I think it is Care Free of Colorado and it looks like I will have to buy a replacement for both supports. Everything minus the awning part itself. I have found the prices pretty variable on it. Anywhere from $325 on Amazon to $220 on Ebay.
I was thinking about calling the place I bought it and asking if they knew for sure what make/model it is. If not, I can wait until Thursday. I have every manual that came with the camper.

Yep, I am pretty sure you are correct. However, it is not the handle that is the problem. It is the support that it attaches to. The handle is held on by a rivet in the front which is loose and hooks under the support in the back and it is pulling away there. It got yanked sideways a couple years ago and seems to be getting worse and worse. I actually need the support with the handle. And it doesn't look like they sell just one support. They sell both of the support frames together though. If I can get them both for $220 and have it all new, then I am good with that. www.amazon.com/dp/B003VATA5W/?coliid=I355YVDKX9IW3T&colid=1FF5FZYJWE6L2&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_itI guess I just need to wait to confirm that is the actual replacement I need. I bought the camper used 5 years ago and haven't really had to put any money into it except for a blown tire a couple years ago and resealing a window. I am OK with having to spend a couple bucks on upkeep and repairs for it now. Lynnmor: Thanks for your help and advice, you have helped me several times over the past few years with issue on my camper. People like you are what make forums like this what they are. I will let you guys know what I come up with.

Think I am missing something. What's wrong on the supports themselves?
I have the same awning I think. Its raining hard where I am at the moment so I can't look at time...will later.
That handle doesn't have to be riveted use a grade 8 or stainless nuts & bolts in place of the rivets. If the holes on the support are distorted maybe you can put oversized washers, metal bracket/s etc on the inside....or possibly relocate the handle a tiny bit and drill new holes.

grandpopsicle:
The bottom part of the handle (part opposite the end that has the rivet) fastens under the support. That part is pulling out as well. It is "tearing" the aluminum support and one good yank and the whole handle will pull off both ends.
I never considered moving the handle. I suppose that is a possibility. I will look and consider that option when I have access to the trailer on THursday to see if it can done and if it looks like I can do it without throwing off the pitch of the awning. I have a pop rivet gun, so I could replace the rivet if necessary. But, to be honest the awning has other problems. It doesn't extend smoothly and the stop in the bottom of the extension has fallen out. I had to put a larger set screw in there to replace it.
THe picture I posted was from 4 or 5 years ago. It doesn't show the current damage to the handle.
This trailer was a rental the first two years of its life. The RV dealer uses them for two years and then sells them off. That is how I bought it. I got a good deal on it. It probably didn't get the best treatment in it's early days and is probably just due for replacement. At least the canopy roll is still in good working order.
I will try to post some pictures when I get access to the trailer.

Yep, I have been doing some checking around. I can get both complete supports for about $220 shipped. As for mine, I am almost positive is the Fiesta Line.

I would need part #4 and I think that comes with the handle attached to it.. I should have access to my camper tomorrow and will be able to determine exactly what I need more at that time. Thanks all for the help. Bruce

Just to update the thread. I wound up buying the full set of awning arms. It includes both the front and rear arms. I got them installed today and all is good now.
The part number for the full set is: 961501WHT
The part number for just the rear arm would have been: R00416-301-55
But, what I found was that I could get the full two arm set for just a little more than the single arm, so I went that route. I got the set for $260 off Ebay including shipping.
I hope this helps out anyone else needing to replace awning arms. Bruce
