Hello, me and my wife are new RVer's with two children. Looking for some people from the New Jersey area to share info with, good camp grounds, good fishing, whatever. We will do PA and other areas, down to VA, up to NY. Once and awhile a little further. We are looking to do Arcadia National Park in Maine, maybe this fall. Just looking for some RVer's around us. I have been a tenter for years and know the Pocono area very well, but my wife doesn't like sleeping on the ground, and as I get older I am starting to agree with her. We got the Spree Escape 196S and are very excited to get started.

Hello and welcome to the forum. We do a lot of camping in the Lancaster, Pa. area so if you ever want to explore the area just drop me a line. If you ever watched Amish Mafia on TV you got a good idea of how nice the area is.

We agree, Lancaster, PA is a very nice area. The 2 main roads through the area offer a lot of tourist attractions but once you head off the main roads everything slows down. Pick up a local map and travel off the main routes. You didn't mention the age of your children but we always took a trip on the Strasburg Railroad with our son. You can pack a picnic, get off at a picnic grove, and catch another train back...very quaint and relaxing. There is a great train museum very close to the Strasburg RR also. If your children are small, take in the Choo Barn, near the Strasburg RR too. It is a quaint model train recreation of the Lancaster area. In the past it wasn't expensive but fun to see all the work the gentleman put into his model train layout. We often went back through because it was hard not to miss something. We enjoyed it too. The VA State Parks are great camping areas. Acadia is a beautiful park. We love traveling the coast and finding lighthouses. Enough for now....as you can see, all you have to do is ask. Happy Camping.
