Hello all, So I bought a 2003 Frontier 2505. Previous owner aquired it after it had some water damage at the shower area, and removed the shower, and toilet. the floor got wet so he cut it all out it, and framed 2x4 across the frame and layed plywood. I had to tear apart to figure out a way to mount the stairs. There is no metal support between the frame rails. is this normal? Looks like it was originally bulit with plywood and stryrofoam. I plan to weld some support braces underneath. I took the kids camping in it last weekend but i want to make it right.

bikefordays The frames were built by Lippert with Kz spec's, the trailer when new may have had sheeting clear across the bathroom which extended into the kitchen or bedroom to make that section solid not sure at this point ...
What I have seen with the newer TT is 4X8 sheet of 5/6 tongue an grove layed down for flooring before walls an other things are added, thus it makes me think that is the way your unit was built ... Here is a few links I looked at trying to find how your trailer was put together As well pictures would help in aiding you with your question www.kingscampers.com/pdf/inventory/337855926004823a6ba029ef83c19a57.pdf
Welcome to the Kz Form an family, I'm sure other will pipe in on your question

Chuck is on target here, typically 5/8" T&G is laid on the frame with the idea being the seams end up on crossmembers. Sometimes they don't..then the walls are built on top of the 5/8" decking. Problem here is it isn't all that easy (or possible) to get replacement decking in under the side wall or to an actual seam so you end up with splices that aren't in the "right" places. In some cases, adding a cross member is what's needed. Short answer is, yes what you are describing sounds normal. And nothing wrong with adding some crossmembers to stiffen things up.

IRV2 form on Vintage RV's www.irv2.com/forums/f65/ has tons of owners repairing an restoring anything from a TT to DP an in between ... We all can help you with some stuff here but over their they have a number of how it's done pictures Vids ... One guy started on redoing a 5th wheel into a toy hauler, then built a truck with a sleeper in the back to tow the toy hauler, sold those an bought a DP an is now restoring it, last I looked they were on page 680 something an that's been a month ago or more since I looked ... He has also built a paint booth, fixed a couple of cars an done a few other projects along the way. he is always posting Vids on U-Tube on how to do things an this is only one guy with two or three dozen followers ... There is more than a dozen more guys rebuilding stuff on different treads like his, so check it out Safe Travels almost on the road again Chuck
