This is why I love this site after finding it in February of 2017, I was on the Forest River Site when we had our Coachmen Chappy 33ft 5th wheel an have been on the Good Sam an a few others over the past few years ...
There is allot of friendly Kz owners from all walks of life on this site with tons of knowledge in regards to all types of trailers, be it a TT or a 5th wheel ... Do we have a few lurkers from time to time yep, but you sure can pick them out pretty quickly most times ...
As stated a number of times, trailers are like rolling earth quakes rolling down the road, so things come loose an things brake ... But it always easier to keep them up when starting out with a clean slate an not having to fix numbers of things from the start ... So it's good on you to keep pushing on repairs so you have that clean slate to start with, I wish more buyer would do the same as what you have done before excepting a unit before taking it off the lot ...
Please let us know how things work out with your PDI's an if you see something or someone asking a question that you may help them with or if you have any questions please, please speak up, that's what this form is all about, owners helping owners ...
Oh ya, make sure you understand the leveling system top to bottom, front to back, as well all the light switch's, four
of the most ask questions on this form for at least 5th wheels I believe is what is this light switch for an I can't get my
Others on TT are how big is my holding tanks, (black an gray), again were is the light switch for such or how do you find it or can I climb on my roof I have no ladder , or how do I fill my fresh water tank ....
These are all valid questions, how do I know, I had to ask some of them, coming from a 5th wheel were I leveled with boards an screw jacks to the new self leveling system even after my PDI where the Tech showed me about four times an had me work it three times when i go home I still had problems .. After a few possibly dozen posts an the LCI Tech at the Kz rally last year I figured it out, but I by far am not a pro ... Same with the my RV APP to rise an lower your leveling system, put out your slides, roll an UN-roll out your awnings, again great people on the form helped me out an lead me by the hand till I got it working ... Another was how do I winterize our trailer, I was use to putting a hose in a gallon jug under the sink an sucking out antifreeze using a hose to the pump under the sink, no more all done from outside now ... Did they say that I was dumb, or I should ask the dealer, no
Do i make mistakes responding to other owners, yes, did I learn my mistakes, yes, did others on this form hose me for doing such, no, they only point out what was correct .... So as you learn your trailer I hope you join in the fun an respond to an owner in need as other do, or if you don't understand something ask please ...
So again welcome to the Kz Family an form

Thank you Chuck.
I try to do my research before all purchases. I work hard for my money and with a large family, I cannot afford to waste it.
My 2016 does not have the APP only the small LCI remote. I plan on using my GoPro during the entire PDI. I will definitely use it for the leveling and already had tape and marker for the light switches. 😁

Sorry for being a late comer to the conversation, first congrats Ragecajun on your new DG! I bought mine (DG 382MBQ) in Dec (second KZ to own) from the same dealership only the Alvin location. Like you the unit was kind of lost in inventory, and it may be the hazards of them not being up to the modern times?? Oh well, their loss as like you I got mine heavily discounted and almost felt like I stole it! I have had it in the Bastrop area since purchase and not had any issues with the heat. I do use both AC units and the ceiling fan to help cool things and they cycle on and off normally, plus I am not one who likes it cold so that helps. It has handled the heat quite well, especially since my spot has no shade. I will be in it for 2 weeks straight for vacation in August, nothing like August heat in TX to test the unit! Also glad to hear they gave you the TV's as mine has 3 and they are all Sansui, which for the little bit I use them the picture is not bad.
Only main issue I had was an exploding kitchen faucet (faulty cartridge), which KZ made good on and a freak crazy flying monkey storm (which here is TX we get quite a bit) had some torrential driving rain that blew sideways in to the fridge cover and shorted out the high temp sensor. Again, KZ made good on that. Fortunately or unfortunately I have my unit pretty much parked and could not take it back for service at the dealership. There is a mobile service I have used at the park and he does warranty work, which is why I said KZ stepped up and reimbursed me for all issues. Overall I am super impressed with the build and quality along with customer service from KZ. Not sure how Rvdude feels about the dealership, but I felt I got more for my dollar there than the "big box stores". And truth be told I shopped around for several months before I went back to the place in Alvin to see what they had to offer. I purchased my first KZ TT from them and had it for 15 years before selling to a family member who was displace by Hurricane Harvey. I will hope this unit lasts as long or longer as it seems to be the perfect unit for me!
Good luck and hope you enjoy your unit as much as everyone else seems to have enjoyed theirs!!!

I can't complain about the dealership (yet). So far all is well. They weren't the cheapest on price, but I could not see driving over 3 1/2 hours or 5 1/2 hours to buy one for a bit cheaper just so my local dealer would not service it. My leveling system died on Memorial Day, so I changed my direction to end up near the Spring store and they worked all day on the leveling system and the awnings. They should have the awning recall parts in next week. They will change those out, install the new ladder, and rewire my DS Flood with a switch by the door. So far the service has worked real well with me and I can't complain. It's a good thing I knew what I wanted because there was a few times I would ask the salesman a question and his answer would be "I don't know, you know more about these things than I do". Yes, he really said that several times.

Bobcat,
I to am buying from the Alvin location. Their service Department seems slow. As of yesterday at noon, all they had completed from my page and a half list was washing and cleaning up the exterior of the trailer. They were starting the silicone of all the joints and one trim piece. I brought them my inline surge protector and vent covers to install. Their new projected date is this Friday.
Wish I had included installation of my LED light set up from my old TT. I don't want to run the wire along the side of the trailer like I did last time and this outdoor kitchen is on a slide out, unlike the last one. Maybe I should install two separate systems, one in the outdoor kitchen and the other underneath the front, hitch area. Only problem would be that they would operate separately. I like them dancing to the music at the same time and same color...(best $150 spent on the trailer and my kids love them). I get lots of positive comments and questions about who installed them. (they are surprised when I say I did it) Wish I knew how to post a video of them here.

Your sort of limited on attachments on the form, what you could do is put them on U-tube an post a link to such
Sorry to here it's taking so long, but once done I'm sure you will better enjoy you new trailer than if you took it home an had to take it back a number of times ...
Safe Travels

RageCajun-
Yes unfortunately their service is slow, and has always been since I've dealt with them, although my unit is not close enough to drop off and I don't plan on moving it unless it's a big issue. Not worth the fuel to pull 150 miles for small stuff. I think there is a dealership in Seguin I could go to that may be slightly closer. Probably the biggest reason why I learned how to fix things on my old TT, which helps with the new at some point. I think most RV service places are a little slow at some point, they drop projects that are in house to fix ones waiting etc. I can say that Dave has been there forever and is very sharp. He really does know what he's doing and has been a gem to answer questions if you can get him one on one. I've been happy with the local mobile guy he is usually prompt and if he can't get there he will help get you somewhat fixed until he can. Plus he does warranty which is better than most.
RV Dude- what awning did you have an issue with and recall? My back patio awning didnt work the last time I was there and will have the mobile tech look at it, but if there is a recall I will let him know. I don't use the back one much as the angle my RV is at the sun gets the deck most of the time anyway. But always nice to have just in case. I also had a small issue with the leveling, but it turned out to be the battery cut of switch was not labeled correctly and what I thought was on was not completely and only getting partial power. After an embarrassing few minutes, several fuses, and a sharpie I have corrected the issue.
Thanks all! Bobcat

The awnings with the problems are the Solera Smart Arm awnings. This is the ones with the controls outside at the bottom of the awning arm as well as inside at the control panel. There is a thread in the Durango folder about Solera Smart Arms.

Thanks, I do not have one of those. The one I have an issue with is the "Care Free" one its small and I think there was a thread by someone who had it come off due to wind, which it really has no good support. Another reason why I don't use it much. But will have someone look at it anyway.

I think that too much fancy electronic stuff isn't a good thing. It's nice if everything works, but not good at all when there is a problem. A simple motorized awning operated from a switch inside would be good enough for me.

AMEN TO THAT!!! Mine is controlled by the touch panel, which I'm hesitant as it is all bluetooth and open to hackers. As is the leveling system and some of the lights. My luck some drunk computer camper will hack in to my rig and it will be rocking disco lights and awnings going everywhere one night!!! ROFL Read a thread someplace that said don't download the app, there has been issues with it and can lock you out of the panel. With all the tech they have I think the engineers should come up with a more sturdy awning, and not one you have to roll up at 10 MPH.... Bobcat

Back to what I always say about the engineers and designers of rv's... most of them have never spent a day in an rv in their life.

It was hard enough to get my APP to work let alone some drunk computer camper hacking into my system, I'd be more scared of the drunks 10 year old kid doing such
I have not seen anywhere were the LCI APP locks you out of your panel, but as I have stated before I have been wrong numbers of times just in the last few hours so the DW has stated

Chuck- TH]hanks for the info on the panel. If it will happen it will to me!!!! And I agree, it would probably be someones unsupervised bored kid who would find it funny to do so. I'm laughing as I type this, as long as it doesn't happen to me at 2 AM I'm a good sport. Not that I am volunteering for a test or anything!

Bobcat I am the same way, if it's going to happen I'd be the one it will happen to LOL, as well all my projects that are suppose to take a hour or less more than likely will take three or four an multiple trips to get parts or hardware Ugh
I have to tell you it took me a but of time to get my APP to work, kept reading the code wrong on the sending unit an then my phone is another issue, my smart phone is way smarter than I am, it makes me look dum daily sometimes hourly ugh !!!
My 35 year old son states "here Dad this is how you do it" he pushes a few buttons on my phone an
things appear like magic, I push the same buttons an the phone goes dead, go figure So if some youngster gives me an the wife a ride at 2am in the morning by the levelers going up an down we might just have to pay him for the thrill of it all
Safe travels

Well They cancelled my 2nd Walk thorough Last Friday when I called before leaving the house, (Since the dealership is 40 minutes away). They rescheduled for Yesterday and I found 4 outlets which were not grounded. (They had to rewire the bunkhouse with new romex and junction box) I also found the Vinyl material over the rear bathroom interior entrance, was all scuffed up and torn. I found a A/C Vent broken (as they say "From cleaning"), and the upper vent gasket not seated in the Bunkhouse. (They replaced this vent, because someone catered it with a knee)
I discovered the Fireplace Remote either needed a battery or needs to be replaced. I discovered that the Television they installed in the master bedroom is too large to lock into the mount while traveling, so I asked them to install the bungee to hold it down while traveling. The Helper installed it so loose that it drooped several inches.
We found a few other items that the helper signed off on that he checked, but was not done.
Hopefully it will be complete tomorrow when we go for our fourth attempt.

ragecajun What in the world are they doing to your trailer, sounds as if they are braking more stuff than fixing ... I'm starting to wonder if this wasn't a parts trailer they used to pilfer stuff off of to fix other trailers as needed ... I can't say I have read of heard of a trailer needing so much repair all at one time to start with Ugh !!! Since you are having so many problems you might check all your drain fittings to make sure they are tight, I'd also have them run water while you check under sinks, in the storage area an underneath to make sure there are no water leaks ... Also check the propane lines coming from the regulator to the propane tanks, a few of us have had problems with the hose's leaking right behind the knob were the fittings are that attaches to the propane tanks ... My hoses were very stiff an I replaced them with more flexible one's, a little soapy water on the fittings with the tank open will tell the tail if there is a leak as you I'm sure already know ... Glad your on top of it, here's hoping the fourth time is a charm Chuck

Ragecajun-
Sorry you are having so many issues there. I got my unit back in Dec and it was the off season, the only thing they had on their books was the local RV show. So I guess I was lucky and had the focus of the shop. I truly hope that unit was not like Chuck said, and they make it right as I have been more than happy with my DG since I got it. Like Chuck I have heard rumors of some dealerships having a unit or two they use for parts. My unit was way in the back of the lot when I first visited, and I actually had to come back the next day to look at it after they pulled it out. When I got there about lunch they had all the slides out, patio open, lights and TV on. So there was not much missing. There were a few minor cosmetic things but they were done timely.
I'm crossing my fingers they make it right for you if you decide to walk away from the unit there is another DG dealer in Seguin and I believe RV dude said there is one near Dallas. I know not fun to drive but peace of mind and getting what you want in your $range is more than words can say.
Best of luck and keeping fingers crossed for y'all
