I am setting up an older camper at my deer hunting camp; we have power but no water. The other guys bring water in for 50 gal blue barrels (not sure where they run it from the barrel into their campers). I'm thinking of getting a white 300 gal water tote and and supplying it from rainwater from a shed roof I will build over the camper. My question is how best run it into the camper. Would it be best to run a hose to the camper 35 gal tank or to run it to the "city water" connection on the camper. What say you guys?

Run a hose from the barrel and tee it into the line coming from the water tank. Add valves to each tank line and open the one you want to use. Be sure you have a screen or filter before the pump.
You can run it into the city water port and insert valves to do the same thing.

I would run a second pump dedicated to the external water tank and run it into the city water connection. I wouldn't re-plumb what's already there. I second lynnmor's suggestion of some filters before the pump if you're using roof water.
