Hello, I'm installing a LED light strip on the outside of a KZ travel trailer and adding a switch for it to the 2 switches on the wall when you first walk in. I've got everything installed but can not figure out the wiring. In the pic you will see my new white and red wire coming from the light. You will also see the new switch on the left in the new 3 switch box. It looks like 4 wires come in to the 2 switches. One switch is for the interior lights, the other for the outside light. There is also a jumper wire between the two wires that have the yellow wire connectors. The other two wires that come in from somewhere have blue wire connectors. So how do i connect the new wiring to the switch? With a normal AC connection I would think you would pigtail power coming in from one of the yellow wires to the top of the new switch, connect red wire to the bottom of the switch, and connect the white wire to maybe one of the blue wires? Well, let me know what to do. Thanks much!

First of all, many RV lighting systems are 12v DC. My guess is the yellow wires with the jumper is the 12v + and the others 12v-. It would help if you had a voltmeter to confirm. Your LED light strip Is probably 12 v also. I’d jumper off the 12v + to your new switch and then determine which wire from your LED strip is + and connect it to the same terminal as the jumper. Hook the remaining wire to the other switch pole.

Got it done. Thanks for the help. There was an under cabinet light that I decided to tie into and run the two wires to my new light and switch. I didn't mess with tying into the two existing switches. Seems to work just fine. Everything looks and acts like factory. 😁
