Thanks for letting me join! I took delivery on our new Gold 385FLF yesterday. I was checking out all the systems and found that the battery disconnect had no effect on the power inverter for the refrigerator. Also, the Auto Level system is hot wired directly to the battery. If I want to turn the refrigerator off, I have to power down the inverter. And to turn the Auto Level off, I must remove the negative wire from the battery. I only know about the Auto Level because I had a flashing red light that would not quit flashing and the unit would not shut itself off.
I am concerned for the reason that I don't want to keep a charger on my battery 24/7 and also, there is no circuit breaker between the inverter and the refrigerator. I don't like having an unprotected circuit in the coach.
My question is, did some tech make a mistake in wiring, or is this the proper factory way to wire it?

Some call your current switch a salesman switch, and yes, it does not totally disconnect the battery. You might want to rewire or install another switch near the battery that completely disconnects. If buying a switch, get a quality one like Blue Sea, the cheap ones fail.

Thank you for your info! Fixing the not really battery cut off is high on my To Do list now. I wil probably eliminate the current cut-off. I don't like the power loss with so many connections.

The current battery disconnect is in place so that certain items are always hot. Things like the fridge and landing gear will be on and you can shut off the rest of the system. This is for traveling purposes so your entire system doesn't have to be on and drawing power needlessly. Your braking system is also hard wired into the battery, so make sure not to bypass that.
Good luck!
