I notice that in my 382MBQ when watching cable on the TV in the living room certain channels come is rather poorly. They all seem to be fine in the bedroom and the office. I did switch over to over-the-air and the channels seem to be clearer but I did get more channels listed in the bedroom than the living room.
I am sure this is due to a low quality cable going from the bedroom to the living room(or bad splicing connectors) but was hoping maybe there was something else I could try since it would be rather difficult to replace the cable. If I hook up my Xbox to watch Blue Ray DVDs (seriously, why the heck does the RV come with HD TVs but one a cheap DVD player and not even a Blue Ray player) the picture is fine so I doubt it is the TV unless it is the actual coax connector to the TV.

We had/have the same issues in our 318RLT. Found several causes so far. the splitters are poor quality and the cable ends on a couple cables were not properly crimped/finished. Still chasing the problem even though we have improved it.

Check the cable ends everywhere you can find and make sure they're tight. You may simply have a loose connection somewhere.

garybushey,
This was discussed in a previous forum. I had the same issue and found it was attributed to signal loss, not the cable. If your unit is wired the same as all the rest, the living room tv is the last in the run. A five way splitter will loose 10 decibels just by going through it, a 4 way 7 1/2, a 2 way 3 1/2. To get to my living room tv it was passing through a five way and two two ways, so with that I had an established system loss of 17. Campground cable systems are iffy at best. Your antenna works fine because it has an amplifier to kick up the incoming signal it receives, if it was the cable you would most likely have an issue with it as well. I posted a wiring diagram in the other forum. Once I reconfigured my system I have cut down my issues. Still some park cable systems have bad pictures no matter what. Good luck with it. Happy Campin....

I found if you leave the out side antenna booster on you will have the problem you all are taking about at least in our Durango Gold. The cable will work but it will be fuzzy ... Make sure that the out side antenna booster behind the bedroom TV is off before using cable or satellite an it may solve your problem, as I say may Safe Travels Chuck

If the switch is on I get no cable picture at all so it makes it easy to determine if it was on or not

As already been said ends and splitters are the most likely the root cause. Not only do they need to be tight, they need to be terminated properly, one stray piece of the wire shield can cause issues. I found and eliminated a splitter behind my living room TV that I couldn't find a purpose for. Unfortunately, fixing this requires taking everything apart and verifying every piece of coax for continuity and then connecting as per the diagram that has been posted here previously (my scan is to large a file to post. As soon as i get a chance I will rescan at a lower res.)

Gary
The late and early R384RLT's didn't come with a DVD player, later on they put them back in because people were complaining there was none ... We bought an after market DVD player an installed it so the DW could watch her move's ...

I bought one of these to check cabling when I had the same issue, about $20 at Home Depot. Lost track of how many faulty ends I found and the 4 colors helped track which cable went where. I now carry a cable repair kit with me,ends, striper, crimper should any more go bad. Klein Tools Model # VDV512-058

Klein Tools Model # VDV512-058 I was able to get a much better image in the Living room when I moved the cable input into satellite but now I cannot get an image in either the bedroom or the office (I guess that would be the loft hookup according to the manual). So a few questions 1) What do I need to do to get the image working in the bedroom? I play around with the jumper cable but nothing seems to work 2) Will I be able to get an image in the loft/office using the satellite hookup? The image with the manual is making me think no. 3) Where is the 5 way splitter located so I can check the cables?

The two splitters in our 384 are one behind the main TV in the living room an one behind the TV in the bedroom ...
We also ran across a camp ground this past week that had bad cable an fuzzy picture on most of the channels, first one that we have ran across in some time ...

I never found a 5 way, behind the bed room was a regular 2 way jumpered to another 2 way ect. In the living area a jumper has to be moved I think to the F connection, that gave me satellite in the living and OTA in the bedroom, with the booster on. Not sure about getting satellite to both, I know it takes two receiver boxes but not sure how they would be wired. I believe the roof satellite connection goes to the bedroom TV and again a jumper has to be moved to another coax connection behind that TV on mine it's A moved to B. I also had to change the source in the main TV menu for the satellite to HDMI 2, one in in mines the DVD player.
No picture maybe a wrong setting in the TV menu, there should be OTA and cable there. When I set the satellite to the HDMI it grayed those so none could be selected.

You are correct. I looked at the image again and only the roof mounted satellite will work with the TV in the bedroom but both the roof and the side satellite connections (the one above the cable TV input on mine) will work in the living room. I guess if I go ahead with my plans to get DirectTV I will need to see about mounting it on the roof if I want to watch it in both rooms.

I use the Dish in the living area and OTA in the bedroom. I carry the antenna up the latter and set it on the roof and let the coax drape over the side. I think if I wanted to use the Dish in the bedroom I would look to lower the connection, possibly to the basement connection, it would only mean moving some coax connections.

If you have only one satellite receiver and want to control both bedroom and living room TV's here is what you need to do;
1) connect the satellite dish lead to the outside on the convenience center hookup marked cable
2) go into the bedroom and behind the tv disconnect the jumper cable from both ends.
3) connect a cable from connector "b" to receiver satellite in connector
4) connect a cable from connector "c" to receiver out to tv connector
wiring this way will get you satellite at both tv with the antenna booster off.
to get ota tv you must turn the satellite receiver off and turn on the antenna booster
Hope this helps.
If you have 2 receivers and still want ota tv let me know and I can walk you thru that also. The connectors on the roof work the same as the connectors in the convenience center they are just in a different position.

Thanks for the information. Now I just need to figure out if I want to A) do it like you describe with the associated signal loss B) just use the satellite connector next to the cable connector outside and only get satellite on the living room TV or C) connect the satellite to the jacks on the roof and get a (hopefully good but so far untested) signal in the bedroom and living room. In the meantime I purchased a splitter and have it hooked up so that it goes to both the cable and the satellite inputs near the water input. I get a bit worse signal in the loft but now the bedroom and the living room look decent

The roof is pre-wired for satellite with one coax yo the living room and one to the bedroom. The living room is the primary receiver connection. The bedroom receiver must be on the same satellite as the living room. Assuming a good unobstructed view of the sky, I receive excellent reception on both TV's.
