So I'm considering a trip for spring break in early March. I live in MN and would be going to Branson, MO. I've noticed the average lows in Branson during that week are right around freezing with 50's during the day. I have a 196S. Would it be safe to camp in it with the possibility of freezing temperatures? Thanks for any help!

As long as it doesn't go much below the high 20s you should be OK. After that the fresh tank drain and low point drains are at risk. Mine are both under the trailer and exposed. The valves will freeze and shatter. AS a Canadian who often sees below 32, I have installed the valves inside (an easy job that KZ should have handled). Beyond that, if your furnace is working you should be good to the low twenties before you need to go further in winterizing your rig. It will likely not be real pleasant at those temps but it should be doable.

Netjam, do you have any photos of this install? that sounds like something I should do to mine!
Thanks!

We were camping in northwestern Ohio in late October a few years back. Our Spree's under carriage is not exposed so I can't speak for an exposed under carriage but I do know our hose from the water tap froze. Fortunately we had a full water tank and were fine even though the hose froze...plan ahead. Most of the campers in the park, who were relying on the "city water", were heading for the bathhouse. We also had freezing rain a bit that night; we had to wait for the sun to come out to get our antenna crank in.
Happy camping

slanted.....On my Escalade I just followed the pex lines up from under the trailer til I found a good place in the warm part of the trailer (in the storage bay) where I could cut the lines and install shut off valves (valves available at any hardware store). I now leave the factory installed valves under the trailer in the open position so there is no water to freeze. Sorry no pix.
