I installed a new battery this spring and I keep blowing the two- 40 amp reverse polarity fuses. I'm sure that I have the cable correct to the battery. I've tried installing the fuses before I put the battery in and it blows and ive tried to install the fuses after and they arc so bad that it burns the fuse. I'm new to this camping, can anyone explain why I would continue to blow the fuses.

What might have happened over the winter is that mice may have gotten into your trailer an eaten some wiring, thus some wires are touching to create a short in you system ... Mice love wring for some reason, so I would trace back you wiring as far as you can, look under everything that you can see wires ... Good Luck Chuck

Color of wires can be opposite of what makes sense. Find the battery cable that is connected to the frame, that is the one that connects to the negative (-) post.

Thanks guys, I'm sure I have the cable right and I haven't seen any signs of mice (I have baits set out) but I'll continue to look.
