Like the subject line says. Do you run the fridge on propane while travelling? Concerns? GD Of course, otherwise your ice cream will melt. You should turn it off while pumping gasoline because of the fire hazard.

Run it the night before and while on the road, everything is at temp when you get to where you are going.

X-9, run it on electric starting the night before we leave. Switch to propane for the trip and leave it on.
If it's really hot out I'll pull over and start the generator and turn the A/C on.
That way I can eat my ice cream before it melts. 😁

I run our refrigerator a day or two before leaving on a trip. It will stay cold even after many hours of travel.
Many states have laws against keeping propane turned on when a vehicle is in motion. I don't do it.

I too have always left it on. Rethinking it now....may have to plan ahead better. I did not know it is required by law in EVERY state to turn propane off before entering any gas station. On average it seems if you do not open your fridge it will only lose 4 deg over 8 hours. Not sure how accurate that can be as we all know the temps can get pretty hot inside during traveling. Although we do have an ice cream problem.....it is my vise.

I don't do it. There must be a lot of law breakers out there. The only prohibition that I know of is that some well marked tunnels require that the propane be turned off. My suggestion is to fill the water tank, turn on the propane, put the ice cream in the freezer and see the USA.
