hello all, just wanted to vent to you a little about our new Durango .we bought this unit in October of 2012 it was a 2011 left over.after transferring everything from our old camper to this one we found a few things wrong .first was the tv.someone decided to tape the cords the swing arm and when I extended it the cable cord pulled the connection out of the tv.then when I climb to the roof to install the new cover for winter storage I notice two patches on it.the dealer came after the unit and removed the patches and found two cuts in the roof.so now it needs a new roof. this camper has never seen a campground yet and to have these kinds of problems is crazy.it really bothers me to have the roof replaced.i just hope the dealer can install one as good as the factory.i,m starting to wonder about the quality of this unit.did I make a good choice or a mistake.

I doubt the unit left the factory with roof patches and with what happened with the tv tells me the dealer did not do a good PDI nor did he do a proper walkthru with you on delivery. The dealer should have been on the roof to check the caulking during its time on his lot and before delivering it to you so he should have seen the patches.

hello spadoctor, we did do a walk threw at dealership.but we didn,t extend the tv swing arm nor did we take a walk on the roof.who would I thought to look at the roof on a new unit.after I told family rv about the patches they seem to have no idea how the patches got there.seems funny to me that they had no idea but I,m glad its covered under warranty.

One thing you can probably rely on is that KZ will take care of you. The more you cruise KZ associated websites is you realize that they take care of their customers.

dave58...no you made a great choice. What the OP describes id stange and the unit NEVER would have left the factory that way. We are on our second KZ and it will not be our last. Our first was a Durango TT that was 2 model years old when we bought iy at a crazy low price...long story....and in 2011 noticed delam. The factory repaired no charge and when we left it at the factory they told us the roof needed to be replaced. Caused by 2 problems...manufacturing mistake on the roofing material and an improper caulking by the factory causing water to be trapped and wicked into the roof. Didn't cause me a penny and they did some other repairs (very minor that were normal wear and tear) no charge. You will not find a better brand anywhere. A lot depends on the dealer. If I were the op I would have called the factory as soon as the dealer said they knew nothing about the patches. One nice thing about the TPO material used by KZ over the EPDM rubber is a repair patch can be bonded to the roofing and never will come loose if done properly avaiding the need to replace the entire roof if damaged. Use your new to you rig and enjoy. If a problem arises call Marty Yoder at the faactory for advice and help....great service manager.

hello spadoctor and dave 58, dave I,m sure you did alright on your purchase.I just thought having these kinds of problems on a new rig was bit much. this is my third 5th wheel and befor this one we had a 2002 acrtic fox which was great. the only problem we had in the 11 years of ownership was a part on the ac failed.i would of bought another but the factory here on the east coast closed.we been looking for a new 5th wheel for over a year and when we looked at the Durango the floor plan was just what we wanted .I just didn,t expect to have the roof replaced already.i know you should expect little things but nothing as serious as a roof. spadoctor I did send pictures to the factory .they did seem surprised but so did the dealership. I,m hopeful that everything will turn out for the best.the camper is at the dealership now and the new roof will be install in a week or two.we have our first trip planned for early may.can,t wait to start camping season this year.

hello everyone,we brought our 5th wheel home today. tv still broke dealer says hes having a problem with kz on replacing it. I thought kz stands behind there product.its been four months and no tv.that figures.also my wife notice on the kitchen floor the linoleum had a gauge like a rock or something got stuck under the slide out. so again I informed the dealer and he said that cosmetic issues are not covered.so now it looks like I,m out a tv and stuck with a gauge floor.I can,t wait for the Hershey show in pa this fall.this Durango and kz are gone. very, very disappointed
