Well after lurking for years, I guess I should introduce myself. Well maybe ourselves, Cindy, Angel, and myself. We have a 2016 Durango Gold G370RLT.
We've been camping for 20 some odd years and have been through the various stages of rv ownership. We started in a tent, took my darling bride 500+ miles to stay all weekend in the rain. I was told that we were not going back unless we were in a camper. After looking in the don't want ads we purchased a 1968 Holt travel trailer. Calling it a fixer upper would be an understatement. After exactly one camping trip we traded for a 25' Coachman bunkhouse. We camped quite often locally with it and after a few years decided we needed a bigger camper. Soooo... we bought a brand new 32' Shasta. We soon discovered that quality was not at the top of the Shasta's priorities. After trying for years to get the problems rectified we had had enough. We traded the Shasta for our first used fifth wheel, a 32' Terry with a slide. We camped a lot in this unit also. Then I decided I needed a Chevy Avalanche, and as you know you can not tow a fifth wheel with an Avalanche. So back to the dealer we go. We ended up purchasing a new 32' Terry travel trailer with a slide. While on one of trips out to Ohio we went looking at campers and ended up wanting to get back into a fifth wheel. (Obviously I had traded trucks by then..lol) We settled on a very well used 36' Montana. We loved the floorplan, had plenty of room, and lots of storage. We had this camper for about 10 years until the frame broke. Yes the frame broke, the I-beam behind the axle had broken off and bent downward causing the slide to not close correctly. After fighting with the insurance company for monthes, we finally got the determination that it was a total loss due to not being repairable. And that brings us to our current recreational vehicle, our 2016 Durango Gold.
We purchased our Gold from Family Camping Outlet in PA. We had a great experience with Bill and his staff. We had first met Bill at the Hershey RV Show in 2016. We had talked to him about the issues we were having with our Montana. I knew of KZ from a local dealer but did not know much about the company. After we got the Montana problem resolved, I called Bill and asked about the unit we were in, a Durango Gold G370RLT. He said it was available and he would work with us. TBH when we first sat in this unit we didn't think we would be able to get into a unit that looked that nice. Long story short we have the show unit from the 2016 Hershey RV Show. So if you were there and sat in a Durango Gold there's a good chance you've been in my camper. lol
We camp locally and travel back and forth to Ohio where my family is. I'm considering retirement and we plan on doing some travelling. We try to use it as much as we can and we'll be in it about 60 plus nights this year.
Welp that's about it with our camper story. We'd be happy to share an adult beverage around the campfire and talk campers if you'd like to stop in.
