I'm late to the conversation - but we just got our 384 with the residential refrigerator and just did the ice thing. I'm assuming the water is turned on (under the sink). When you start the ice maker there is a button in the front underside of the ice maker. You need to hold it to purge the air out of the line. It took a little bit but finally got the water flowing to the ice maker and no problems since. And yes, when you see the ice symbol the darn thing is turned off. Totally backwards in our opinion. lol

I'm officially in the ice business... got it working, closed the outside drain valve, and had ice in less than a couple of hours. I'll dump the first couple of buckets then start using the ice.

Hooray!!! BTW ... thanks to kathyed for the "hold the button until it purges the air" tip. I guess if I read the instruction manual, I would have known that also. ;-)

I'm pretty sure it will make more ice than you'll be able to use ... I just turn mine on and off as required.<style></style>

Yes, I will definitely have to turn it off and on as necessary because it will definitely make more ice than I will use. I'm glad to have it though!
