Has anyone had a problem with the entry door being hard to close without slamming it? I lubricated it but I have to push on it from the outside or pull on the handle from inside to get that last click. It all might be because it’s new and has to be worked in. The striker plate is thick. I took it off and it works easy but I worry that during travel it could open due to the movement.

There is not much adjustment as you learned. Perhaps you can shim or file as needed to get better operation.
I always lock the deadbolt when traveling. Unless things have changed, the lock in the handle can be opened with a master key and the deadbolt needs the proper key. Get in the habit of using the deadbolt for better security.

The only problem is the door latch. If I take out the striker plate it works fine. I think the factory didn’t align the striker plate properly by the way it looks. I always use the deadbolt when traveling. Just never know with these things .

I've always had to slam entry doors on my RV's. But, from the inside, pull it tight until it clicks, then a good tug. I think the screen door has a lot to do with it.

I believe there was a discussion over in the Durango folder about this subject at one time ... Our door is hard to open an close but I was told it was made that way, we do not have a latch to hook the to the side of the trailer like we did in out old 5th wheel... Thus when opening the door it stays in the position you leave it an it takes a pretty good gust of wind to close it ... I have to tell you that I am not to enamored with it but I am getting use to it, as with capemayal I pull it tight until it clicks, I will say that our screen door is not the same, it loose an swing easily ... Safe travels Chuck

One of the biggest complaints in the RV world are the doors, even in DP's.

Fixed it after realizing that the factory installed the striker upside down. Works fine now. Thanks to all for the help.

Fixed it after realizing that the factory installed the striker upside down. Works fine now. Thanks to all for the help. It's a close race between the factory and owners when it comes to door problems. It's all to easy to tweek a coach one way or another and make a door tough to close and latch. Add that to the challenges the factory creates (like incorrectly installed strikers) and it's not hard to see why doors are an ongoing issue. First and foremost make sure your coach is level and not twisted. From there adjusting is a matter of logically thinking about what needs to moved where. And make sure the lock is properly lubed with graphite.

I experienced with my previous Jayco that if the trailer is not evenly leveled, the door will have problem closing easily. Hope this help.
