Picked up our Durango 2500 318RLT yesterday. During the demo we operated the auto leveling feature successfully. Brought it home and everytime I try it in my driveway I get a fault "out of stroke". It gets nearly level but not completely. I am unable to get it level manually either. It looks like to me that the front jack are going to the bottom of their travel and the back cant seem to get high enough. The driveway is not level by any means but not severe either. I will try moving it tomorrow and re trying but would love to hear any advice you all may have. We are 4 hours from our dealer.

Your correct out of stroke means they are as far s they will go, try some blocks to shorten the stroke. I think if you acknowledge the error on the inside panel it will clear.

Yep, you need some blocks under the jacks - primarily the rear, as their travel is really limited. Mine did that during the walk thru at the dealership, freaked the walk thru guy out.

Yep, I'll second this, you need some blocks to shorten the stroke, some people use plastic blocks others like me use wooden 4x8 blocks 1ft long ... Never leave home without them Safe travels Chuck

For mine, I try to level the trailer side to side for the most part. I'll get it mostly inside the bubble before attempting to auto level. It saves me headaches after unhooking and then finding out that I'm out of stroke and having to hook back up.

Hi Chuck. yes, the answers that I got here explained it to me pretty well. I picked up some stackable leveling blocks and when I took it to the campground it leveled perfectly on the first attempt. I want to thank those that offered information to me. It is easy to think something is wrong when you are new to this. In most cases it is merely a matter of understanding the systems. That takes experience and friends like on here.

I can tell you that we went from a trailer that was for the most part all manual to set up to the auto-leveling system in out G384RLT, scared the dickins out of me the 1st time I saw the nose drop when started to level even after I had saw it at the dealer once before ... Glad you figured it out, safe travels an happy Glamping, hope to cross paths down the road Chuck

I am glad that fixed your problem. I couldn't test the auto level during my walk-through because there were so many interior issues that needed fixing. The tech was busy inside and I couldn't work the slides. In fact, the dealer ended up delivering the unit. Later, when I tried the auto level, it moved around and then stalled with a blinking red light. I cleared it, read the above comments and added blocks where needed and tried it again. Same results. I ended up manually leveling it and re-calibrating the system. Scary because you get a warning message saying "you may blow it up and end all life on the planet... Do you still want to do this?" Being a country boy, I smiled and did it. It worked perfectly ever since. Guess the dealer never tested it either.
