We had some crazy wizard of Oz storms here last night and in the driving rain my fridge started beeping, when the storm died down enough to hear it, and the L1op code appears. I’ve read a few things online about removing the outside cover and drying everything out and using a magnet to reset the high temp switch. Anyone have a similar experience after a heave or driving rain?

Yes, I had the same thing last year. Follow the steps that you found online using the magnet and it should take care of it. Fixed my issue right up and it has not returned.

We had the same problem at the Kz rally last year (not to scare you) but took Frig Tech 2 hours to figure out what was wrong, finally replace a board, problem solved ... (don't ask me what board it was do to the fact it's been 9 months ago an I can't remember last week, UGH!!) Frig has worked fine ever since an we have been in some pretty heavy rain storms, I know that this seems to be a problem across the board so maybe it's something to discuss back at the Rally this summer... As well this is not only a problem with Kz units but other brands as well which have RV frig's installed ... Safe Travels Chuck

Again thanks for everyone's input but we are still having some crazy storms here, so I think the poor thing has drowned. I was able to bypass it just to keep the fridge cold (NOT RECOMMENDED!) and may have to replace the board if drying out and trying to reset with a magnet does not work. I can say its been 6-8 hr since the failure happened, and the unit is holding temp very well. The proverbial silver lining! The bigger problem becomes how to "rain proof" the access cover? Apparently this is a huge issue with these boards and unfortunately the side the fridge is on faces north so that is where the majority of the weather comes from here. I am really open to suggestions on how to try and keep wind blown rain out of the access cover.....Or extending the wires between the boards and relocated the limit switch board to a more "dryer" location inside.

I have a 2018, anyone know if this has been remedied? The link supplied by Bobcat goes all the way back to 2013!

Thanks Edd505, I have a board ordered and should be here tomorrow. I will try the bagnet trick on the old one to see if I can revive it and keep as a spare in case this happens again. Or at least until I can come up with a better way to rain proof the access cover.

I wonder if putting an air filter on the back side of the grid. Just something that would still allow it to breath.

Bon Maybe some type of home furnace filter may work, something to keep the rain out, if I remember right the problem was on the top vent not the bottom ... But putting something on both may be the answer to solve the problem, will add this to my list for the rally .... Safe travels an happy Glamping Chuck

Thanks all! I may get some furnace filter and put in between the vent and bug screens, that should do it. My vote is not to have any move flying monkey storms, but I bet Mother Nature has other ideas on that!

Hi folks! Hope everyone is well. I know this is an old post but had a similar problem happen again with my 2118 fridge. We had some crazy rain here in Texas over the last few weeks and the high temp board was doused by rain and fried. The unfortunate issue is I was not around to fix it and given the upper 90 temps well the whole thing got real stinky real fast! I spoke with Norcold again and they sent out 2 replacement boards. One for the repair and one for a spare.....I'm sure it will happen again. They tell me they are working on a cover for that board and will be ready in 3-6 months??? I have to call back to see if its ready because they are not taking a pre-order waiting list.
For the record rotting meat in your fridge will set off your flammable gas sensor!!!!
Anyone else have this issue with the board getting wet and shorting out? Has anyone fabricated a shroud to go over it?
Also looking for any suggestions on how to get the smell out of the freezer besides charcoal and baking soda.
Thanks for everyone's input in advance!!

Try some bug screen covering the inside of that cover, still breaths and maybe enough to divert the water.

Thanks have that in place, but unfortunately when the rain is wind driven sideways not much you can do unless there is a shroud. I thought about making one out of flashing but not sure the metal would be good over a computer board.
