Hi all, I could not find the thread that contained the discussion on the clear braided water line, so I just created a new one.
I heard back from the GM of the dealership who contacted KZ concerning the reason they use the clear or white braided water line. They told him that it was for flexibility. It's easier for the water heater and water pump connections to use this type. No other reason stated.
Sounds reasonable, what do you all think?

If a water pump is plumbed with ridgid pipes, the vibration can be quite annoying. Kits are available that have the braided hose and proper connections so that about three feet is flexible on each side of the pump to reduce the racket. I added those hoses as well as an accumulator and a better mounting board.

I'll buy the reasoning, makes sense, but they need different clamps.

FWIW - years ago I had a MOHO that kept having a fresh water leak into the compartments. Couldn't figure it out. Then I found a broken strainer/filter on the end of the pump. Replaced it. Several days later, happened again. Got out the book and looked and looked. right in front of my face "use flexible...." on both sides of the pump. Found out that Fleetwood (didn't say that did I! ) used rigid. They said it was the way they always did it. So instead of sending me the necessary parts - I wanted a new pump because of any unknown damage - they insisted I go to a dealer. $50 fix I could have done, cost them nearly $200 at a non-selling dealer. So much for their quality control. Just saying.
