Hi, I noticed when I only had the Kit/LR AC on the cold air was also coming out of the ducting in the bedroom. My 1st thought was that this was done purposely in case you lose an AC, you would still get some cold air in the area of the other AC. Anyone know for sure?

Bob
Look behind your storage wall, in the past a few people, not have found that the duct work is not attached to the furnace for some reason, be it they didn't do such or it wasn't connected properly or if feel off in transportation who knows...
Also while you have the storage wall off check you water hose connections to the back of you water panel, there have been a few owners who have found or have had water leaks do to water hose connections coming loose after a period of time, so it my be wise to check, a little preventive maintenance ....
Safe travels an Happy Glamping

bob52,
Yes, some call it a racetrack duct system. The A/C duct work is one big oval for that exact reason. I have a diagram of how it's laid out someplace. If I locate it I'll post it. Happy Campin....

Happy Campin.... Good for KZ! If I may ask, how did you get the diagram? Do you have any other diagrams i.e. electrical maybe? I have had the wall removed for two days now and I have been checking out everything I can, and so far, the production crew has done a very nice job! Hat's off to the production crew! I wish I could say the same for the dealer service folks. Geez Thanks RdRmr! Bob

bob52,
Sorry, no electrical. Those are pretty much non existent on any towable RV, I've never came across one. I acquired it from a manufacturers brochure a few years back and just kept it. Now the question is where? While you're in there check everything as Chuck stated. I had one 4" round heater duct come loose from the rectangular floor duct transition. Also the rectangular duct end itself started to come apart and hang down. A few screws, aluminum A/C tape and all good now, things tend to shake themselves apart after time. I get back behind there about once a year and look just to try and avoid any issues while on the road. Extra insurance I guess. I like the fact that everything is easily accessible with that wall removed. Good thinking on KZs part. Happy Campin....

I had 2 hanging down. After being on some forums, I was blown away as to how many folks had stated their ducts were hanging. In my case there was only one screw on one side and then tape over the rest. So it seems that this fault was very common and you would think by now the production crew would have gotten the change notice. Maybe they don't visit the forums? Thanks! Happy Camping to you too Bob

Bob while your back there check the clamps on the white water lines with the nylon reinforcement. They used PEX clamps and not screw clamps, I found leaks there and a couple of the PEX leaking. KZ also has coax cable end issues, I have lost count on how many I have repaired. HF does not have PEX tools, got a coax tester & PEX tools at Home Depot.

So what is the difference between the white and the 2 other colors? It feels softer. I noticed that the screw type clamps have a sharper edge than the pex clamps. The pex clamps are a little thicker which made me think that these would not be as prone to possibly digging into the the pipe. Just a thought. Bob

Chuck HF- OK! So Chuck, it sounds like you do not have this type of tubing, is this correct? I will look again but off hand, I know 1 goes to and from the water heater, but have not traced them yet. bob52,
One more thing regarding the duct work. I removed all my ceiling discharge vents and cut about 1/2 - 3/4" off the ends that stuck up into the duct, had just about 1/2" of clearance to start with, now have about an inch or so. Much better discharge air flow. Another freak thing was one morning I woke up, looked up and saw sunlight in the forward most A/C vent over the bed. What the heck!!!! Went on the hunt and found it was sunlight coming through the sky light above the shower reflecting into the bathroom A/C vent and then reflecting all the way on the inside of the duct to the end. Scared the heck out of me at first, thought somehow over night got a hole in the roof. (Phantom space junk) HA. Amazing. Happy Campin....

Bob Yes Bob I have the same tubing as you an after we got our G384RLT I stated to check out the duct work an plumbing along with some other things that were talked about on the form as you can read in my past posts This like many other's was are 1st band new 5th wheel after owning a used 5th wheel for for over 10 years I was use to just general maintenance an up-keep an not the things ownership of a new one with a number of bells an whistles LOL ... The olf 5th wheel even thought it was a higher end Coachmen had everything manual except the two slides, the leveling jack were screw jacks an the front legs were manually let down an a pin went thought them at some point an then you pushed a button to lower them to the ground. You hoped for the best to level the trailer prior to dropping the front jacks an screwing down the back jacks, if not then you started all over again to level the trailer Ugh, now I push a button an the trailer levels it's self, Ive gotten lazy LOL .....
