Hi, me again When I did the walk-through there was some house type insulation hanging out of the hole in the membrane where the sewer pipe enters the rig. Of course after me asking them if they checked the underbelly and they said "yes", I then asked them why they did not push the insulation back in and seal it up (-: After I called them out for this issue is when they began the childish attitude. After that, I lost trust. There were a couple of other issues as well. I may have posted this already in another thread so please excuse me if I did. Anyway, they stuffed the insulation back in the hole and then sealed it up with some foam. It never crossed my mind at that time what caused this to happen. After I got it over here to the house (see pictures attached) I notice an elongated sag in the membrane in both directions (front and back) from the 3" entry point. I was able to push up on every area with little pressure, so it seemed it was just some screws missing. So my first thought was to try and locate the cross members or the joists so I could maybe get some self tapping metal screws and see what I could do. Well, the first joist, or it felt lock a cross member, except I was able to push this member upwards (Uh Oh). So at that point I then decided it may not be a good idea to screw anything in until I knew what was going on. I certainly did not want to screw something I would regret. Without the center to center measurements of the cross members, I decided to post this instead. Let me know what you think. If anyone may have some input on the chassis, that would be helpful. I did send k-z my story, but have not heard back in a week or so. Picture descriptions left to right: 1. Looking from the front to the back. You can see the sag. 2. You can see just where the bulge begins. Not too far from the front jacks 3. You can see where the bulge ends. You can see the foam used for the 3" entry point. I almost want to rip it off and do it right. Maybe something hit the 3" pipe en-route to the dealer or while at the dealership. No signs of any damage to the pipe though. Your thoughts Thanks Bob

I would say it is normal. I have yet to see one that was any different. Everyone that I have seen seems to bulge to some extent. Mine is no different. After 1year and 6000 miles it still in the same position.
When I push up on mine I can feel some resistance like there is a lot of insulation behind that sheet of ABS. Mine is all sealed up and I'm going to leave well enough alone, unless I have to get up inside the underbelly then I will secure it differently.

bob52 Mine like jetzen sages a bit in front an I feel pressure as if there is something else there behind that sheet of ABS .... I believe if you look at the pictures of last years rally kzfamilyforum.com/thread/1670/2017-rally-photos?page=1there is some pictures jetzen too of them building some 2500's this may give you an idea ... The pictures of the 5th wheel frame in the Kz factory start 2017kzrally.shutterfly.com/pictures/135#149but I only see one picture of the frame an it's a side picture ... As far as emailing Kz about the questions I believe a phone call to Customer Service would be better an may get you an answer quicker ... They have always been friend when I talked with them an steered me in the right direction ... As far as the dealers remarks an attitude, I like you do not feel that allot of dealers higher people who work on these trailer to be dedicated to quality work an to make things right...It's sort of like hey it's not my trailer an the boss said get it out so we can get the next one in to make more money ... Where a good RV repair shop will do quality work an to make things right because they want return business an if word gets out they are not doing such they are out of Business pretty quick ... It's pretty wet today but I will go out later today when dryer an measure my cross members on our 384 ... Safe Travels ... Chuck

Chuck, I know you mean well, but if you are in the PNW it might be a couple of months before you can get out there, but I will wait! Appreciate your help!

I got under the rig and pushed in all areas and was only able to find what appears to be a cross member (found only one!) I wonder if the edges (sides) of the ABS are attached somehow to the rig. Can't see up on the edges but there does seem to be quite a bit of material wedged in there.

Bob Ok Bob I have learned after 20 years of living up here you work no matter if it rains or not LOL So I measured from the front of the trailer to the 1st rib which was approximately 25 to 26 inches, then to the 2nd rib which I believe to be 68 inches from the 1st rib ... There was no screws attaching the underbelly between the two ribs with little sag, then i'd say 26 to 28 inches to where my sewer pipe comes out an that's were I seen the most sag, I didn't see anything holding up the underbelly coming out but there must have been such other wise if would have sagged more I believe ... Again looking at your pictures I believe you are getting the large sag do to that is where your black tank an fresh water tanks are an do to that fact I believe your sewer pipe is coming out an that's where they have put extra installation around the bottom of the your trailer to keep it insulated .... Disclaimer: I didn't kill, hurt or injurer any rain drops wild life, worms or ground moles while measuring the under side of our 5th wheel trailer Safe travels Chuck

Yes, those measurements are really close. My first rib has a 3 screws using about an 1.5 inch washers. I don't see any screws either after that. I agree with you 100% that there has to be some form of attachment down that way or this layer would already be on the road. I wish there was a manufacturers rep I could call just to satisfy my curiosity. I just hate not knowing. Well, when the wife and I were up in Washington, we lived between Bremerton and Silverdale, and we could always spot the natives as it would be raining cats and dogs and they were out running in shorts and short sleeves when the temps were in the 40's! We miss it up there we really do. Will be heading back to our old stomping grounds in New Mexico within the next few months. Thanks Again Chuck for your help and input! Bob

Well Bob As far as missing the NW, I miss the sun an warm temps in Texas, I would trade such any day of the week, but the DW won't think of it, has her claws dug in up here about 4ft I believe You could always come to the Kz rally an ask them in person, all the line managers, Kz area sales managers, VP an Kz Techs are there an answer any questions you may have Or you can call Kz Customer Service during the week an ask for the phone number or talk to the Kz Western Area rep or ask to talk with a 2500 5th wheel line manager, or maybe someone else who owns a Durango Gold beside us who have answered you may be able to answer up as well ... else Safe travels Chuck

Thanks Chuck. Well Texas weather is OK for about 4 months, until the mold and fungi begins to grow in places on your body you would not want to talk about. Air quality is terrible. One out of 4 people here have COPD, Asthma or some form of chronic related lung issues. Although they (News) have been asked to tone it down, the crime is terrible as well. 2-3 murders every day. I have asked that the city to change the name to "Little Beijing Chicago". So, house is on the market and we are gone and never looking back. So, think again before you decide to come here.
Oh, I almost forgot to say thank you again! Bob

Well, we were on the other side of the sound, which at the time was pretty human friendly. Don't get me going on the handouts! Put them to work on our infrastructure upgrade coming shortly I hope. Freeattle LOL (-:, Same everywhere Chuck! The older I get the more cautious I have become. I know that I cannot defend myself as well as I used to, but I do have a friend that can help in an emergency (-: I will most certainly give you a PM, but it's going to be awhile. Our plans are from New Mexico to once again tour the West Coast. Grew up in the L.A. area and have many friends that I must see. Then up the coast and into Canada if we can, with many stops along the way. Not sure about the RV rules up there yet, but I will educate myself.

Hey Chuck, yes I agree with you on CA, but I must go see my old buddies! Won't stay long though. I heard the other day that California was at some point considering a flush tax. What's a flush tax you ask? Every time you flush your toilet, you pay! Yep, not kidding.
Does our rig have 3 axles? I can tell you some family stories but I will hold back for now!

IMHO, it's worth investigating. During my first year of ownership in a 336RE, we noted a sagging underbelly during a rest area stop in Florida.
We had put about 15 gallons of water in our fresh water tank before heading out for the drive to New Hampshire, to use to flush the toilet.
We found that there was a crack in the tank that was leaking such that the water was accumulating above the plastic underbelly panel. It wasn't previously noted as we hadn't used the tank, being in a full hookup RV park.
We drilled some drain holes in the panel, drained the tank, and our dealer replaced the tank once we got home.
