Just purchased a week ago and ready for first camping trip just overnight for practice setup and breakdown. 1st 5th wheel owned or even pulled. this DW is 40.5 foot long which creates some uneasiness due to length. I been dragging around travel trailers for 15 years. Got this one due to bunkhouse for grandkids. I already have questions concernng adding bacup camera and backup light installs. Does anyone know if pin 7 is wired on the pigtail on Durango 2500 series? Read more: kzfamilyforum.com/thread/1756/durango-d347bhf-camera-backup-lights#ixzz558jbzr3A

If I understand your question yes it's wired, sort of plug and play. Back under plug in and go so long as your TV has a working 7 pin.

On my Sportster, the pigtail is wired from the plug to the junction box underneath the kingpin. It's capped off there with a wire nut. I did test it when hooked to the truck and it does have power. I don't have any backup lights, but I do have a ton of running lights that light the back end of my 5'ver up like a Christmas tree. Therefore, I haven't thought much about adding backup lights. My 5'ver came pre-wired for a backup camera, so I have that already in the back. It was an adventure that you can read about under the General RV Questions folder. I say this because the Furrion camera I bought has night vision that works pretty darn good. I think that if you look into some of the backup camera with night vision, it could potentially save you having to run the wire for the backup lights. Most backup camera you can splice right into the running lights that should save you on installation as well. Just my 2 cents.

I’m new to this site and just saw your question. Look on the website for Nucam. It’s wireless to your phone and has a very strong Magnet. It might be Nucam.com

I wouldn't mind backup light on the RV. I have gotten to camp sites after dark a few times and lights back there would be helpful.

Tie a flashlight or two to the bumper.

Look into the Furrion backup cameras. They have night vision. I have yet to test it, but so far even at dusk I can see pretty well. My trailer is only 35' but having the observation system gives me 360 degree view and a good peace of mind.

I have to tell you I get confused looking at the backup camera in the car, have always used the side mirrors on all my vehicles to back things up ... Of course in the big rigs I drove there was never a rear view mirror in the window only side mirrors LOL an no backup camera, after a few years you more or less always new were the back of you trailer was Believe me I'm not knocking the people who use them or what to use them, it's a good idea in allot of way for owners instead of hearing the DW yell your going to hit something or worse yet HEY Fred you hit the power pole Safe Travels an don't forget about the Kz rally chuck
