Hello - We were lucky enough to find parking for our TT (Connect 312BHK) a mere 10 minutes from our house. Our driveway is too small to park the unit and I dont even want to do it for 24 hours because it will block the sideway. We have awesome neighbours, so they will not complain, but I still dont want to be "that guy"
I want the fridge cold and running when parked so that we do not need to empty everything out all the time. The parking pad has no power (already checked). Any suggestions?

Hi, does your camper have solar panels to generate power and enough sunshine where parked to keep it going without intervention or shore power? That's the only way I'd try it, and I'd be checking on it frequently to make sure there weren't any problems. Make sure to check your propane levels frequently as well.
If not and you don't have shore power, I do not recommend that you store your camper with the fridge running. Your battery will potentially die and the fridge will shut off. Anything in the fridge will potentially be ruined. Then you'll have a battery to recharge or replace, and a smelly fridge cleanup.

Hi John - Thanks for the reply. Yes, the Connect 312BHK is prewired for solar, which is great. I honestly have a hard time figuring out this solar power and the calculations. I am a medical scientist, but for whatever reason, this baffles me. And I am good at math!
I am assuming that the fridge will need both solar to keep the battery maintained as well as propane? We have a lot of quick turnarounds this year planned with only 5 days between trips so trying to minimize the amount of loading and unloading! We dont really intend to do much in the way of dry camping.

You'll need the battery and propane to run the fridge, yes. I can't say if a battery would last 5 days just running the fridge. There could be other draws on your battery as well.

Not sure you need propane. My 2018 C312BHK's fridge is 12v only. It does not run on propane at all. Perhaps some 312BHK's have hybrid fridges?

Wow, I've never heard of a 12v fridge. Wouldn't that kill that battery extremely quickly?

Not if we're plugged into shore power. Not sure how long it would take to drain the battery if left running without shore power. It's an option on the Connect 312BHK (it's what was in the one we bought). Here's what KZ had on their website: "Optional 10 CU FT Stainless Steel Residential-Style 12V Refrigerator, in place of 8 CU FT Gas/Electric Refrigerator!"

even if it has a 12v fridge the batterys have to stay charged up, so you need 110v to run the converter built in charger. I am fortunate enough to have covered storage at home and my 5W is plugged in at all times with the fridge running, stocked and ready to travel, just add fresh fruit & vegetables.

Like johnr I would not leave frig running with only 12v an now shore power...If kids are old enough make it a fun thing with mom loading bags of food an the kids helping carry them out while dad packs the frig...This was was always a fun thing with the kids an now the grand kids ... It go's along with " are we there yet " or " how much longer" at least the dogs can't talk Many safe travels an don't forget about the Kz rally this summer Chuck
