Hi everyone! I recently purchased a Durango Gold and using it for the first time over the holidays I noticed low water pressure at all faucets. I check the faucets and cleaned them out since they had manufacture debris in them, which I expected and that fixed the sink issues. I still have, what I think, is low flow in the shower. I took the head and hose apart but didn't see anything in them Any advice? I was wondering if a high flow pressure regulator would help?

Yes, the high flow regulator did the trick for us during our last trip.

Thanks I will invest in one. Simple and relatively cheap fix.

Hi, could you point me to this high-flow pressure regulator that you're talking about? I don't understand what it is or what it does. I kept thinking of the high pressure regulator that you'd put on a spigot in extremely high pressure situations where it can split your hoses or damage the camper. Thanks!

This video should answer your question: VideoGet an adjustable one like in the video, for the best available, get a Watts from the Water Filter Store. linkWhatever brand or price level you decide, just don't get the tubular shaped kind as seen in the beginning of the video.

After checking on the Valterra regulator, as shown in the video, I'd say spend 2-3x as much and get one that will work for more than a few months. 22% 1 or 2 star ratings, with lots of filled gauges and cracked housings within 1 or 2 uses. BTW, does anyone connect these at the trailer using an elbow, instead of at the pedestal? Looks to be thief bait, IMO. Lyle

I read a little bit that says water filters also act as reducers. I wonder how that would affect water regulation? Would a regulator be better server in line after the filter?

From the hydrant I use a hose Y with shut-offs, then a hose of suitable length, next a blue water filter, then the regulator hung on a hook under the trailer, next a short hose and last a 90 degree elbow.
The Y is for attaching another hose or for any water use at that location, and it also provides a quick way to turn the water on and off. The regulator is placed after the filter to prevent flow loss thru the filter if campground pressure is low. In the event of extreme pressure I might put it before the filter. Hanging the regulator under the trailer gives some measure of security. The only down side of not placing the regulator ahead of the hose is possible hose failure. I'll take that chance. I usually turn off the water and water heater when I leave the trailer unattended.
Years ago I learned the hard way about the cheap regulators. The barrel shaped ones can reduce the flow under certain pressure and flow conditions and yet seem to be fine when testing on the end of a hose.

Lyle Yes my regulator is inside the outside compartment with at 90 coming off to line up with the hole in the bottom of the 5W. Knock wood I have never lost anything from a camp site and don't take any extra precautions. Chairs, fire pit etc are left next to the 5W, I do try and meat my neighbors and watch for anyone that doesn't belong.

Maybe that should be one of the things that is talked about at the rally with kz, to incorporate a regulator within their trailers along with surge protector. When you have paid over $60k for such whats a few extra hundred for the extra. When you see the new add-on's now they have applied to the Durango Golds a regular an surge protector would just be frosting on the cake ...
Safe travels

Agreed Chuck, it't the little things that people don't think of that make things really nice. Plus I'm sure KZ would not pay near as much as the consumer if a vendor wants their name associated with a great rig! Marketing at it's finest....

Well folks I was looking at Valterra regulator's the other day after reading this thread, we already had one but my mind started to wonder an I thought I wonder how much they are now after a few years of having one. Camping world had them for $48, etrailer had them for $38 an the local RV dealer had them for $84.00. I ask the parts guy was that a mistake, he no that's what our parts book list them for ... I told him he better look on line because they were $40 or more dollars higher than even Camping World who is what I call high price Harry's Ugh I wondered why there was dust on the one I looked at, now I know, it's been there for years Safe travels Chuck

FYI I got mine on Amazon for about $25 for a stainless one, brass was about $5 less. I almost fell for the RV store myself but decided to be patient and save$
