I recently purchased a Durango Gold G382MBQ which is a SUPER AWESOME UNIT!!! But for some reason my 4 tier steps are the squeakiest things ever when you use them. I tried lubricating them, and am looking for any help. The whole world will know when someone is going in our out! LOL Any advice welcome!

Well, if we camp next to each other the world wont know if it's you or me, as our steps squeak as well. I also tried lubing all the obvious points with no luck. As soon as I get a chance, I plan on digging into the cause, as this squeaking drives me crazy. I will let you know what I find.

Sounds like it is a common issue. Funny they even squeak when the 15 lb dachshund uses them. For some reason I thought there was a Lippert decal on them, but will also ask the dealership sometimes they have good answers as they see the issues more frequently.

Our is MorRyde on our 2017 384RLT, an I know that jetzen also has MorRyde on his 2018 384RLT as well but looking at the pictures I see that they have a different set of steps that what we have on our Durango Gold G384's I remember at the Kz Rally last summer that one of the Durango Gold owners did change out their steps from what I am seeing on the G382MBQ's to the MorRyde Steps an added the extra grab handle.... They added them right on site an didn't have remove the old steps as well didn't have to take the trailer to the MorRyde shop, pretty cool an gave them a very big discount as I recall ... The MorRyde rep while installing them stated that if they took out the old steps an added a box where the old steps were it would be a nice little extra storage area Another reason to attend the kz rally this coming summer, big discounts on goodies Safe Travels Chuck

On my last trip I confirmed they are Lippert alumi-tred quad steps. I have contacted Lippert to see if they have any suggestions.

We removed the Lippert aluminum 4 step model from our Durango after only two months of use. Not only did THEY squeak, they caused a squeak in our floor at the entry door. I replaced the Lipperts with the Morryde step above and have been very happy with them. Fixed squeak in floor with shims between trailer frame and aluminum floor frame directly beneath entry door. Four steps is too much cantilever for me.

FYI I contacted Lippert and they were very helpful with some troubleshooting ideas. In the long run if the squeak can't be fixed, they will send new steps out.
