We are Good Sam members and have seen several Good Sam Rallies advertised over the years. There is one coming up in Syracuse, NY this year, not too far from where we live. We have never been to a rally of any kind and wonder if anyone has any experience, good or bad with large rallies by Good Sam's.
We are looking forward to the KZ Rally anticipated for October.

My wife & I attended the Good Sam Rally in Louisville last year and had a great time. This was our 1st Good Sam Rally and would highly recommend attending. Be sure to have good walking shoes because there is a lot to see. Every kind of RV related vendor will be there, the shows are great and tons of RV's to go through. You meet fellow RV'ers from all over this Great Country of ours... Don't give it a 2nd thought, go & enjoy yourselves... After the Rally, make sure you come back here and let me know if it was all I said...
We are Good Sam Life Members...

Well, it only took me 4 months to think about responding to this. We did go to the Syracuse Good Sam's Rally. The weather wasn't great and those with large rigs had lots of problems with soft ground, ours being a smaller travel trailer and given a site with some gravel made our location tolerable. There were 3012 units at the rally.
I am sure if there are KZer's out there who were in the mud they will share their nightmare. I do think that Good Sam's did the best they could to work through the problems but the location for the rv units was at best marginal due to the rain and soggy ground. Unfortunately, Mother Nature is not always kind.
The rally was a lot of fun. My husband really enjoyed the seminars on tech/maintaining/repairs etc...very informative. I found lots of seminars to keep me busy too.
We will attend another rally sometime down the line.
