We have a 14' KZ Sportsman Classic and considering getting an awning cover. Does anyone use one? Recommend using one? Do they keep the awnings from getting moldy\damp? Thx. Ed

ed I have saw awning covers on some top end motor homes but not TT, we have never used any on our 5th wheels or Class C, but that dozen't mean you can't .... We wash our complete awning in the spring an maybe one time during the summer an in the fall before we put it away. When washing the 5th wheel during the summer I always wash the rolled up part of the awing, but not the complete awning do to the fact it see the sunlight an dirt more than the rest ... Safe Travels an Check out the Kz Rally folder Chuck

I've never seen an awning cover. What is it supposed to do? How hard is it to get up there and put one on?

ed,
You looking for a removable one to use while your unit is stored? Check: Awning Pro A6W-5743UVA20, says they are available at Walmart and other RV supply stores. Made of white plastic. I myself have never used one (friend of mine had one and liked it) but then again I wash mine quite frequently. Not much rain here in S Calif. to worry about mold, more damage from the sun. Happy Campin....

If you are planning on using the awning cover when you store it, I suggest going with a full TT cover. That way you protect your entire rig rather than just the awning. The swning will stay protected under the TT cover just as it would with its own.

I have a AwningPro. It works real well on the sun, but may not keep the rain out. I still open it up after a good rain to make sure it is dried out. The awning faces south and I have seen some sun damage in just two years thus the cover. Easy to get on and off. With the travel clips you can transport it with the covers on.

I purchased a 4" vinyl eavetrough that fit nice and snug over the awning. We use it when the TT is in storage for the winter to keep the weather and sun off the awning. Investment=$20.00
