We have a 2016 1/2 ton Chevy PU 5.3 L with 9,400 lb towing capacity. It does not have a rear stabilizer bar. We pull a 29' KZ Connect 241RLK TT equipped with an e2 WDH. UVW is 5,310. GVWR is 6,500. Has anybody added a rear stabilizer bar to their 1/2 ton Chevy? Does it make any difference with trailer sway? We live in Texas and sometimes get high winds. Wondering if this would help. Thank you.

Trailer sway is something that takes place behind the ball and is usually caused by too little hitch weight. A rear stabilizer bar on the truck transfers weight from side to side keeping the truck more level. In my opinion, it should be a worthwhile addition for better handling towing or not. High cross winds will give the same amount of push regardless of devices added, but adding sway control devices will stiffen the truck-trailer connection resulting in them acting more like one. Just keep in mind that it is only a feel good thing and the danger is still there whether you feel it or not.
