So I as told that the model number 353 , 366, 325, 385 etc is the square footage and the RL, RK, BH is the design. Wives tail or true? Thinking back on the ones I have owned it would be close.

It's all Voodoo to me. I likes my camper and it's perfect size, so I'm good with it.
Now, if my dealer would just get my cabinet door in stock I would be happy.

RL = rear living room
RK = rear kitchen
BH = bunk house
I don't think it is square footage. For example, I have a 325. Just taking exterior dimensions, 325 / 8.5 (the outside width of the RV) would leave me at a RV which is 38.25 feet long. My RV is only about 35 feet long from hitch to bumper.
I always thought it was the length of the RV without the hitch and bumper. For example mine would be 32.5 feet + bumper + hitch.
Any other ideas?

The number is just an approximation of the box length. The letters are as stated above, but they can vary as well. For example, you could have two bunk house trailers of the same length but the floor plan may be different, so they have to conjure up two different model numbers.
There is one brand that I know of that uses the actual square footage as the number. It is best to carry a tape measure if you want real numbers.

I know the TH is Toy Hauler and it has a 10' garage (hence the TH10), it's listed at 34'2", however, in Actuality, when I measured it sans the pin box, she came in at 34'1". So I have no idea what the 311 means. |
