hi! We've a 5th Wheel KZ Sportmen Sportster 36ft from 2008. Just bough it, used. Great RV, but some failures as it was probably stored very long in a place. We're getting it in shape again as we use it. Already 7000 miles down the road with it, installed chokes for 2 motorcycles and happy with it. But the generator and the gas pump for the toy hauler rely on a gas tank... that won't fill. The gas just doesn't get in. It noticed the fueller neck has two lines, a large (2") and a thin one. The thin one was sort of bend, maybe the rubber got weak and coundn't sustain the curve and finished in a Z shape. I shorten it so it's now without angles. I also noticed the main rubber fill line is cracked and probably obstructed. I bought a new 10" long 2" large segment so I can replace the part. Does anyone around have a similar rig? anithing else I need to check? The generator is a Onon 5500, there is a very long line going from the tank to the geny. Any special checks before recranking it? How does the pump station work? there is a big pump and a gas gun, it seems it was never used in almost 10 years... how does it work? I've been looking in the documentation going with the RV nothing about it... just wanted to know if anyone had any insights... thanks

My advice is to go to KZ's website and you can usually downlaod an owners manual that might help you out a bit.
Where does the gas run when you try to fill it? There's a chance the lines are obstructed by mice nests if it sat for some time, so I wouldn't be surprised if you had to replace the fuel lines or remove them, clean them, then run high quality fuel cleaner through the lines.
Mice nests is where i would start though.

hi, good luck finding any precise info about a 2008 model... And I've all the original manuals anyway, they're not specific enough and say nothing about the gas station. I'll look for the reason of the obstruction; to me gasoline is obnoxious enough to deter any animal from trying to get in there; but why not. Anyway for a $15 piece of rubber aged 10 years, I'll replace without asking myself too many questions... I should get it tomorrow by post; I'll post here the report so it may help others...

I would also remove the fuel tank if you can an wash it out, sitting for 10 years you could have all kinds of junk in there since as you say it dozen't look like it was used... If you can not figure it out, I'd take it to a good Rv Repair shop an ask the question of why you can't fill it ... Also this would be a good reason to attend the kz Rally next year if you can what, the Techs are very good an really know their stuff. Even thought your trailer is not under warranty they will help you figure things out an show you how to repair such an if time they will even help you with repairs at times Safe Travels Chuck & Hildi
