milpol4523, doublewa
1st of all
Glad to see doublewa taking his time, if you read some post in the Durango Gold folder you will see some of
my comments about our PDI, I even had them put water in the black water tank an ask them to drain it on the
spot, stating it was a new unit there should not be anything in that tank, there wasn't but the Tech was really
sweating it LOL ...
As I said in another post over in the Durango folder it took us 4 hours to go thought our unit, since our
unit was at the RV show as a model we had already looked it over pretty well to begin with at the RV show.
That is what sold us on the Kz product, let 3 or 4 hundred people tramp thought your RV an see what it
looks like in three days, the G384FLT we own had only one problem, as door over the TV a little out of
place from what we saw an that's what sold us on the Kz product, other brands were not so lucky.
Even after 4 hours of going over our unit I still missed a major problem do to the fact I was looking I
believe to hard for the small stuff an not the big picture. Even thought at the PDI I saw that the Bedroom
slide was not out all the way I was paying more attention to what was being said about the functions in
the panel for hooking up water an such in the storage area. I kept thinking I have to go back into the
trailer an look to see if that slide was all the way open, but we moved on to other things an I forgot about
it till we got home an I tried to open the bedroom slide, ugh. So asking on this form which I had heard
but forgotten was how to get at the slide assemble under the bed. Someone an I forget now told me to look
under the bed, take the chairs out an there was a cover to lift. So to make a long story short I found two
lag srews to long an that's is what was holding the slide from coming all the way out...
Point being hear is go thought you list, check it twice an then check it again, yes look at the small stuff
but remember to check off the big stuff as well an go back again an again till you feel you have done a
good job, because once you sign on the dotted line an leave that lot it may take weeks or months to get back
in
I found this out when calling for an appointment after only owning the trailer 2 weeks, if I wanted
an appointment it would be 2 months before I could get in an then they didn't know how long the trailer
would be there waiting on parts or work to be done. As I said I fixed my bedroom slide myself, I waited an
had them fix stuff at the Kz Rally which took one day an the had all the parts right there a mile away.
As I had said in other post the Kz Rally is a great place to have stuff fixed if you can hold off or you
do not want to deal with your dealer or your dealer dozen't want to deal more or less with you... At the
rally you can plainly see that Kz cares about the product an takes the time to fix your problems.
Thank you to both of you for your service. I spent 6 years active, 1966 to 1972, then 20 years working
in Army High Frequency Stations as a DOD civilian
Sorry I tend to wonder around in post Ugh, but I want owners to see the pit falls of PDI's an also see
that your Dealer may not be the best but Kz really cares about the product...
So milpol4523 if your dealer isn't helping you make a point to attend the rally next year around the
first part of August I have heard but not totally sure as it was last year... Once you sign up the
Wagon Master will ask you to fill out a list of repairs needed an send it to him before the rally.
The Kz people will have this list an do any an all warranty work unless major the week you are there.
I will add if it's major work they may ask you to stay over after the rally to get things done or
possibly come the week before for such
Safe Travels
