I have a 2017 KZ Connect 251rk. The folding door into the bedroom will not latch. The latch consists of a little peg or dowel (1 inch long and about 1/4 inch in diameter) attached to the wall. It is supposed to latch into an opening in the door and keep it shut. It will not hold and the door will not stay shut. Any ideas on how to fix this??

I wonder if that is a common problem. When we bought our 2012 recently, the door has a little peg with a screw end hanging out, and on the opposite wall is a hole. There is no way to get to the peg from inside the accordian door. We haven't tried to pull out the peg and screw but we need to do that before one of us gets that screw tip in the middle of the night.

marlee, khasay, Not sure what you both are talking about, if you could post pictures it might help, maries we have snaps an a plastic strap that holds are doors from opening going down the road. Our old 5th wheel had the same thing. Snaps ware out from un-snapping am re-snapping over the years an have to be replaced, what we did on our old 5th wheel was to put a door "slide lock" on the floor an when traveling we would lock it. Of course you can always replace the snaps which may be easier that what I have stated above safe Travels Chuck

I have pictures but don't see how to post them.
Oh, I see the attachment buttons now. Looks like I have to open an account somewhere to host the pictures.

If I've done it right, there should be pictures here when I hit the post button. The first picture is the door folded up with the little peg and screw sticking out of it. The second picture is the hole in the opposite wall where I assume the screw and peg used to be. Thank you Edd505! Attachments:

marlee Good job, I believe the peg should be there, thus a guide an a small support when the door is closed But that is just my 2 cents Safe Travels Chuck

If the screw part is supposed to be in the wall, what is supposed to be on the door, and how is it supposed to work? If I pull the screw part out with a pair of pliers, will it just leave a hole in the edge of the door?

marlee,
That catch pin stuck in the door belongs in the wall, like you said grab it with a pair of pliers and pull it out. Inside the door there should be tension clips that grab the pin when the door is closed. Yours must be really tight to pull it out like that. Check Camping Worlds web site and look up United Shade Pleated Folding door #16310d, enlarge the picture and you will see the white pin in the opposite wall. Hope this helps. Happy Campin....

I purchased the part on Amazon. It was listed as "JR Products 81855 Closet/Folding Door Latch/Strike." The trailer is still in winter storage, so I have not installed it yet, but it looks like the exact part. Thanks for your help.
