When your camper has to go in the shop. How long does or should it take to get parts in. My local keeps saying WAITING ON PARTS. It's frustrating, you buy new camper things break. Take camper back to shop. They put in for material to fix and going on a month still waiting on parts. Is KZ that slow sending out parts or is my local feeding me a line of BS?

Only the basic shell and cabinetry are made by KZ and those parts need to be produced. Pretty much everything else can be had in less than 4 days.

Unfortunately this is the KZ way. I take RV into dealer for obvious warranty work. Takes a couple of days to diagnose, then they contact KZ for approval. This takes several days, Once they get approval from KZ they order the parts, This takes several days to a week. The first time I had warranty work done the RV was at the dealer for over a month. I am now going on to the second week without hearing from them.

Parts were the one of the biggest headaches during my RV career. This is all to typical for the RV industry. Lots of steps before parts are authorized & ordered. And I while don't intend to shift all blame to MFGs, they don't always put a priority on warranty parts orders. Same thing with dealers. In some cases, the MFG is waiting to have a big enough order to send it to the dealer or the parts will be sent in a unit ordered by the dealer. Other times it's because the MFG doesn't have a brushed stainless faucet, as they now install white ones or something like that.

cajuncamp I have been to Kz's main parts warehouse, it is large with many parts that I could see at the time, I needed a black grab hand rail, all they had was white on the shelf. I stated that I needed a black hand rail, the gentleman left on a golf cart an returned about 8 or 10 minutes later with a black hand rail that was suppose to be installed on a new unit in the future he stated. Just before the Kz Rally I broke a ladder hinge on the back ladder, when asking my Kz dealer they stated it would be about a month to get one ... asking at another RV store they stated the hinge cost was $35 plus another $20 shipping for a simple hinge. They had one in stock at the Kz factory an installed at no charge, another reason to attend the National Kz Rally (Smile), So as nvguy stated at time they may have the part but it may be the wrong color or not in stock until the next run of that type of trailer or trailers thus the wait time... As well sometimes the dealer waits to get a large order from the factory an blames the MFG for something the dealer is doing ...It's the old blame game, not my fault the other guy is the holdup Ugh Same with service, I had a furnace go bad, called my dealer in early March "Sir we have no appointments till June", called Kz customer service " Sir we are not responsible for the 1st year on appliances but here is Suburban who is the MFG of furnace please call them at XXX-XXX-XXXX that is their direct service rep" Called Suburban they gave me a service center only 10 miles from me, called them, "sir can you bring your unit in next week on Tuesday", delivered unit on Tuesday of the following week, two day later a call from the RV dealer who was working on my unit an stated "Sir your trailer is ready for pickup, thank you for letting us service your unit" So you can see there are good dealers who sell 10 or 12 brands an service may be poor an other RV dealers who sell 5 or 6 brands an they believe in service along with selling you a trailer ...Guess who is getting my money next Safe Travels Chuck

It depends on what the parts are. The KZ warehouse only has so many things that they keep in stock and the production line has their own stock. If it’s something as a door handle, a light, decal, Misc part it should only take a few days. If it’s something such as a window, furniture, tables, chairs, cushions, landing gear/motor, refer ect that would need to be ordered from the vendor and that can take up to 2 weeks for KZ to get those parts. They are not able to just grab those items from production stock because they will only have a set number of items for each unit they are building. So depending on the part it could take a couple of weeks.

I agree with happycampin, in today's world it not about keeping stock on hand, that cost to much money now days, it's called supply an demand. Even grocery stores now days depend on this system, if there was a disaster were the roads were blocked your local stores would run out of food in about two days an some products in one day ... As I said in another post above, they took a hand rail from a new unit that was going to be installed possibly the next day or two other wise they had a white hand rail on the shelf. If they had not done that I more than likely would have had to wait till the had a run on black hand rails to get one, but being customer orientated they provided me with the correct hand rail no question ask ... Again as stated kz dozen't make stove, frig's, landing gear etc that is provided from a vender with LCI or Suburban, just like you car, if you want a alternator the MFG dozen't make a alternator they order it from the vender who makes such ... One more thing is that a dealer may wait till they have a number of parts to order from a trailer MFG before the order, thus saving money instead of having the MFG ship each part as needed. One has to remember that under warranty the dealer or possibly the MFG is footing the bill for shipping not you, thus putting a complete order with multiple orders an or parts is cost effective, if it was you as a person you would do the same to save a dollar or two .. bigd31998 There are many on line parts Stores that you can order different parts for upgrades such as tires, wheels, shades, chairs, lights an many other things, but Kz dozen't have such, you must order parts thought a Kz dealer if you want parts from them ... Now if you were in Indiana an happened to be near the factory, they have a parts warehouse that you could possible buy from ... The day I was there they were about to close so the front door of the warehouse was close an locked, but there was a few people left in the building an thus I got the part I needed just by dum luck Safe Travels Chuck
