I just bought a 2017 Durango 2500 D340FLT. I really want to put the Morryde steps that fold down once the door opens. Has anyone installed these? Any fitting issues?

First of all Welcome to the Kz Family and Form To answer your question Yes At the Kz Rally the MorRyde Rep installed a set of steps on one of the 2500's, he left the old steps in place but told the owners who bought the new MorRyde steps they could take the old steps out an prefab a storage box for space. They also installed the grab handle that attaches to the new MorRyde steps, pretty cool setup an it fix perfect into the trailers ... If you can wait till next years Rally you will more than likely get a discount on the steps an get them installed right at the camp grounds. This will save you shipping an installation fees as well an you get to meet all the great people at Kz an MorRyde since they give us tours of both places along with other Kz owners ! ! I'll give you a little hint, MorRyde rep stated they are working on the a design of MorRyde steps same as what is available now but can be lifted easily with one hand no problems an may be out next year early, I believe they will be spring loaded some how ... As well if you have any problems with your unit this winter or spring Kz along with LCI both will fix anything wrong with your trailer while it is under warranty free of charge while at the Rally ... You should check the Durango Folder for lots of information about 2500's another Durango Gold's Safe Travels Chuck & Hildi in Western Montana headed for the barn

I had the dealer put them on our '18 DG in April. Love them. Best mod I've done in years. Down side - You must pull them out to enter if you're on the road and just pull over for the facilities, unless you have a side door still has the OEM steps, that let you get into the bathroom. We left the OEM steps on too, just in case we might need them in the future. They don't interfere with MorRydes. Not overly heavy. If you're older, weak legs, etc.,then the "house" pitch of the steps is great. You can adjust that pitch too. MAKE SURE YOUR DOOR IS OPEN AGAINST THE COACH WHEN YOU DEPLOY THE STEPS. They can catch on the entry door then. Only need to do that when deploying and stowing. I had them add the optional handle. Too bad its not included, because that's a great feature. Makes life easier for our old bones.

I would echo what others have said ... we had our "step above" steps installed at MorRYDE when we did the IS and disc brakes. Love them. A few adjustments to our processes to accommodate them, but that is normal. As was mentioned, door must be fully open to deploy or store the steps. Additionally, they need to be stored when leveling or hooking up as they don't like the trailer to be moving around when they are deployed and in contact with the ground. Just a little learning curve, but well worth the effort.
