We have a 42' toy hauler and the back ramp collapsed on me while trying to put my 900lb Harley inside. My question is how hard is it to rebuild one of those doors to never do this again. They are wanting around 3500$ to replace it. Any advice would be amazing

You need to find a local fabricator and see how much he can salvage. Where are you located?

That's a long way from my house, so I can't recommend anyone. If you can post photos, or provide a link to them, perhaps some ideas might be shared.

Not sure how to post a picture on here any ideas You will need to upload your photos to a photo hosting site. See the thread about can't see photos for a couple of ideas. When you have the photos uploaded, simply click on the Insert Image button and put in the address to the photo.

I would look for either a good RV shop (one that can actually build stuff- weld, work wood and such) or a commercial truck-trailer shop. Reason being is this is going to require several skill sets- a metal frame, some wood interior framing and of course some nice appearing interior and exterior finish work. The trick is building it strong, but not overly heavy.

So I have an idea and get your guys opinion on it I have a quote for a new door from lci. It's a little over 3000.00$, with that being said I was thinking about just covering the bottom half of the door( where it's starting to give) with 1/4" thick diamond plate on both sides. Would that hold the weight of a 4-wheeler or should I just replace the door. Two sheets of diamond plate total is 800.00
