As a rule I always would replace my camper tires before 6 yrs of age.... My tires are only 3 yrs. Had one throw the tread this week. Tore up the camper pretty good. Bent up the aluminum side panel and the fender skirt. Would appreciate it if KZ would use some type of liner in the wheel well to protect from tire failures. Better Tires would be appreciated too. The Freestar Tires haven't held up very well.

There hundreds of posts on web sites about what is called china bombs, most people not all change these tires from the manufacturer in around a year or less depending on your travel ... As far as the manufacturers putting in a liner in your wheel wells it's about money, if the salesman stated that they needed an extra $1000 for a wheel liner most people would say I'll pass, same with tires, to put G rated Firestone's they wanted $1250 for my 5th wheel, I passed ... safe travels huck and Hildi out and about

The cost of four new GY tires is less than the deductible on my coach, so I have a rule, I replace trailer tires every 2 years, regardless of mileage or use (just replaced them on my 1 yr old Durango). Trailer tires take a lot of abuse, the sidewalls are heavily stressed when making turns, even more so when making those 90 degree turns into spaces. It also doesn't help when the tires come from a country that isn't noted for top quality products. Chuck pretty much summed up the why don't manufacturers do more. People wont pay. You know, a local fab shop could make some heavy gauge wheel well liners for ya...
