My Sportsmen Showstopper came with Trailer King ST205/75R 14 tires, load range C (1760lbs at 50psi). My TT has a GVWR of 6000ibs. So assuming KZ knows what they are doing, these tires were adequate for this model trailer. I ran these tires at 50psi religiously.
Recently I decided to get rid of the "China Bombs" and go with a U.S.A. made tire, so I had 4 new Goodyear Endurance ST205/75R 14 tires, load range D (2040lbs at 65 psi) installed. On the side wall of the Goodyear Endurance tires it specifically says "For Max Load Inflate to 65 PSI".
Since the GVWR of my trailer is 6000 lbs (and I am not near that fully loaded) I am nowhere near the max load (2040) of each tire. So, my question is, do I need to run them at 65psi and if not, how do I determine what pressure I should be running them at? Thanks for any input.

larryo You should run your tires at what Goodyear has stated on the side of the tire, otherwise they will cup and ware uneven thus your tire will ware out way before they should Also always check tires when cold an fill to recommend air pressure as recommend by the MFG ! ! , when hot they will always gain air pressure, thus you may have them filled to 65psi cold but when hot may be 70psi or a little more, this is ok, once cold they will return to 65psi unless of course you have picked up a nail or something ie flat ... Safe travels Chuck & Hildi

Good idea about getting rid of the junk. Usually you run at the sidewall pressure, but if there is a great difference in load you could go with a bit less for a better ride. There are charts on Goodyear's website. Personally I would run no lower than 60.

I agree, no less than 60psi, probably a pound or two higher at the weight I am running. The goal is to keep the hot tire pressures less than 70. Thanks for the input.
