KZ owns this forum, I think. Talking to the execs. at KZ they claim that they do monitor it, however this forum has 4 administrators 1 has not signed in since 2012, 2 have not signed in since 2013, the 4th last signed in 6/23/2017 under kzadmod. I messaged this administrator and petitioned him to look into upgrades to the forum in March like a Venom thread and some other new threads and features and then mysteriously I got locked out for a few weeks. I felt like I was being spanked. I could still read all the post' but could not log in. I will most likely get lock out again and this post will probably get deleted.
These administrators can however monitor the site without logging in, so they may all still look at it, and I am also assuming that the administrators are KZ officials. They also claim that they monitor "ALL" the KZ related facebook pages.
WHO KNOWS!!!

jeff318rlt If you look back at some of the idea's and want's that Kz owners have talked about you see these wants an upgrades to the newer models that come out ... I believe that staff do monitor the site, I saw one the other night or at least at the bottom of the main page it stated that one had logged on, weather administrator log on I do not know but it stated a Staff member was logged on, are they the same I do not know ... I know that after I joined I was allowed to post/start polls, looking the other day at what I can post it stated I could post everything but polls, so I do not know what happen that I can not do such any more... As I look at it, it's not a problem I have only posted one poll since I have been here less than a year.. I can only say I would hope Kz are reading these posts, there are some great idea's posted here on all the threads to improve products. Are there some negative comments yes, but the way I look at it the negative can also help anyone turn things into the positive Safe Travels Chuck & Hildi

One other point if you look under the " Forum Information & Statistics " and click on "RSS Feed" will show all the posts that have been posted in the last month. Thus Staff or Admin do not need to look at the main board just go to "RSS Feed"

Chuck,
From what I have heard on the "street" talking to other owners and to reps, KZ is very resistant to customer input. They base their changes and improvements on information provided to them by there dealers. I believe they look at this forum and others that pertain to KZ they just really do not take the consumer opinion very seriously.
I have been told that they are somewhat slow to react. That being said if you build it correctly to begin with you most likely will not have many problems with your finished product.
If you look at some of the other forums and blogs it seems like their higher volume products is where the most complaints stem from.
Compared to most 5th wheels on the market Durango's are pretty low volume. I think that that is a blessing for us, but I also believe that if/when demand goes up the build quality will come down.
Here is a pretty good article just disregard all the political stuff if it offends you and read about the workers and work conditions

jetzen I can remember International Harvester (IH) having 2 plants outside of Elkhart IN, I use to deliver Steel to them all the time, they were bought out by Case and moved oversea's. All in all Case closed 7 IH manufacturing plants in Indiana an Illinois, also US Steel shut down one of their large plants just over the Indiana line in Illinois.. I remember an old truck driver tell me that within 20 years the steel industry would no long be a major employer in Mich, Ohio, IL. or IN., he was right, now they ship scrap iron overseas where labor is cheap and ship it back to us at a high cost... All the little job shops making cars parts I use to see when I was just starting to work as a young man are gone, most shipped south to Mexico... Am I happy that the RV industry is doing what they are doing overall to workers no, It sounds like LCI got the message per the article. But with RV lots over crowed with all types of new trailers I see this boom coming to a end in the future, when you over produce, demand goes down, when demand goes down the work force goes down an quality goes out the door. I believe that Kz being small an building a good product is a great thing, what I worry about is when sales of RV's start to fall and Thor starts to loose money they will shut down the small guy's to keep the big guy's alive. Thus Kz being smaller may fall like the rest of the smaller MFG's before them or be sold off to the highest bidder by thor to keep their profits high for stock holders ... The other thing I fear is that Kz will drop the quality trying to keep up with the bigger RV MFG's so they will not be sold off by Thor I hope none of this happens because I think Kz has a good product otherwise I wouldn't have bought into such, I would only hope that if Thor did sale off Kz that the employ's would be like Harley Davidson and buy the company back Only my two cents worth for what it worth Safe Travels Chuck & Hildi

1 staff 33 members 477 guests in the last 24hrs, someones looking You don't have to be signed in to look, however of the 4 site administrators there is only one who regularly signs in the other 3 haven't actually participated by signing in, in over 5 years and I think that is why site improvements can't be made. JMHO
I will address this at the rally
A lot of threads need to be archived, new boards need to be added, this whole site needs to be refreshed basically because it is tired and out dated

There might not be anyone there who knows how to make site improvements. This whole forum could have been outsourced or written by someone who is no longer with the company.
I'm a software developer by trade and I'd be willing to try to learn the backend if KZ was interested.

I think that a few of us could help, people like johnr who has the knowledge and willing to help could be an asset to Kz and to the site ... I do Administrator chores on three sites, I'm not good at re-writing software but I do keep up with day to day admin duties an scream help if need from one of the other Administrators of those sites. Also if you look in the back round there are people that have tons of knowledge, I have always stated that I am not above asking for help when needed. If someone ask a question and I do not know it I have always told them i'll find you someone who know the answer if I can't do it Safe Travels Chuck & Hildi

Thanks jetzen it took a bit to figure out this board as it's so far behind most of them I watch. Jayco has an exultant board I watched with the old 5W. I think it maybe company run but it's got tons of members regularly. KZ can look there for a good example.

The MOC which I am still a member of (officially an SOB now) just relinquished the site to a new administrator in February. It was a nice site before but now it is cleaner and faster easier on the eyes and is now like this site where you do not have to sign in to "read" most threads.

Read more: kzfamilyforum.com/thread/1586/kz-follow-threads-curious#ixzz4lhAwLaJ9There is a school of thought that the DEALER is the CUSTOMER of the Manufacturer. The RETAIL CUSTOMER is the CUSTOMER of the DEALER. It seems that KZ subscribes to this ... which is a mistake and may account for their relatively small footprint in the industry. I ordered a Durango Gold and with about 2 months left BEFORE estimated delivery date, my wife decided she wanted a residential refrigerator ... they said it was "too late" ... I said "I'm writing the check and it's not too late" ... they said they would put me to the back of the line, I said OK ... this isn't an emergency purchase. Then they said that was the last change I could make ... or what, I would be forced to buy something else? KZ is confused about who is paying their bills.
