Al
I had somewhat a similar problem with my Durango Gold G384RLT, our bedroom slide would not extend all
the way, here is what I found
Under the bed I found a storage area were the two extra chairs are stored, I took take the chairs out
I saw a covered/carpeted board with a lift hole close to the end of the bed.
With the Bedroom slide almost all the way open, but not all the way, I lifted this cover and saw the motor
assembly an rails for my bedroom slide.
Looking to the front(toward the headboard) where the front part of the were the cover was I look very
close an saw the bottom of two lag screws, one about 4 or 5 inches from each side of the bed.
Here is were my problem was, the lag screws that hold down the back side of that front cover over the
slide rails under the bed are catching on the metal support rail that goes across the bottom of the bed to
prevent the rail's from flexing or bowing.
These lag screws are hex head screws and I sort of dig around in the rug to find the heads
(it took me a bit to find the heads). I remove these screw and replace them with much shorter
screws the same size but shorter. I believe they were like one and a half or two inches long and I replaced
them with one inch maybe three quarter inches long...
The other way is to grind the bottom of the screws even with the bottom of metal bar/ cross member, but I
thought it was easier and not as messy to just replace them ...
This should then make it so the bedroom slide will open all the way, I replaced the cover board
and chairs and pat myself on the back because I was now a RV repair guy LOL
BTW I save my screws to take back to the Kz Rally to show them to the QC inspectors
I already
have shown them to my dealer and ask who did the PDI on our 5th wheel when it arrived at the dealer
I was shocked when they said they didn't remember LOL
But I also blame myself for not catching it when we did our PDI, I new that the slide was not open all
the way when looking at the window frame on the bedroom, made mental note to look inside but
never did Ugh, my bag, but I found the problem without their help
Safe Travels & Don't forget about the Kz Rally this Summer
