Has anyone have any experience with the camco electric water heater upgrade. I'm looking at buying one so I won't have to use my propane.

Apparently it is the same as the old Hott Rod device that has been sold for years, they might have bought the company. They are only 425 watts, so it will heat much slower and won't maintain temperature nearly as well as gas. That said, they can reduce your need for propane quite a bit. I had a friend that used on for years with success. One downside is it getting in the way of your annual tank flushing. If your tank is under warranty, it will be voided.

Don't know the exact ohm reading off hand but it will have little resistance if it is good. You can get a element at most hardware and home center stores. Look for 1400 to 1500 watts and 120 volts.
If it is a Suburban, it will have an anode rod for a drain plug. Replace it if there is a lot of material loss. Regardless of brand, pull the drain plug and give it a good flushing.

Does anyone know why they put the switch for the heating element outside the camper.
