I'm wanting my break lights brighter . I'm just wondering if i need to buy the whole led break light assembly or can i just get a bulb to make it brighter.

You can just stick an LED in there, but often the results aren't great. The reflector and lens may not allow as much light as you hoped. Since there are numerous variations in fixtures and bulbs, you might want to try a bulb and see what happens.
