New to the forum and to civilian camping as retired military. My KZ DG has a residential fridge with an ice maker, turned on the water underneath the stove, hit the reset button on the ice maker too. No ice. Ugh!

If it's new, did you check for any shipping blocks or tape as they sometimes do to things like that for shipping?

In my new Durango gold you can clearly hear the water running when filling the icemaker. Can you hear the water running?

In my new Durango gold you can clearly hear the water running when filling the icemaker. Can you hear the water running? Not at all. I've found another shut-off valve under the sink ( island sink) along with one to the dishwasher, tried it and waiting to see ice. The saga continues

A lot of trouble, but you could pull the refrigerator out and take the water supply tube off and open the valve that controls the water to it. If you get a good flow there it has to be a refrigerator problem.

If it's a Samsung, when the "ice off" light is ON ... that is the no ice position. To get ice, the "ice off" light must be off. I'm sure that makes sense in Japan but less so here ... that they would put an "ice off" light but not an "ice on" light. Go figure.

It's been awhile since my last post. We've been on vacation to Yosemite and are back home, quite an adventure. On our 1st leg of travel the ice maker became the least of my worries; the entire refrigerator fell out of its cubby hole. It appears that three plastic button straps held it in place along with screws at its base. Had to use a 2x6 to wedge it in place. Called KZ and they were great; covered by warranty and will repair/replace free. Looked at a KZ 2018 Durango Gold and the fridge seemed loose and top heavy too. Anyone else have this problem??

We have an 18 cu ft residential Samsung ... not loose at all. Traveled 11,000 miles so far with no problem. But worth offering feedback to KZ, I'm guessing the list Chuck is keeping is getting LONG.

ronc Lets see, here is what I have so far that has been reported as far as Durango Gold 5th wheels, I look at these as it could happen to one or a number of units. It is not my intent to bitch or complain to Kz about these, what the intent is to make Kz aware that there has been problems in the past an we are trying to help them make a better product because we as owners believe in them If you have more let me know in a PM and I will add to the list, again right now this is just for Durango Gold owners or Kz 5th wheel owners do to the fact I believe we will be touring the 5th wheel line where DG's an 5th wheels are being made 1. Slide Rollers vice nylon slides in bedrooms (do I have such, if not can I get them installed)(my unit) 2. Bedroom door not staying open when 5th wheel level ( my unit) 3. Bedroom slide having 3 1/2 inch lag screws under bed (slide would not open all the way) Note: repaired by owner with 1 1/2 inch lag screws (my unit)4. Cabinet doors over main TV ajar not aligned properly (my unit) 5. Hot water on electric not hot enough, but on propane is hot enough (may be adjustment)6. Bed lifts/supports under bed are only stapled, they are coming apart, need to be screwed and glued It has been reported that plastic strips holding down refrigerators in some case's breaking or coming loose an refrigerators being damaged (Question has this been a problem in the past or present)7. Heat ducks falling off furnace's in some Durango Gold units 8. Staples thought TV cables 9. Pull handles for Black and Gray tanks need to be labeled or shown in owner manuals Note: Dealer Techs during PDI should be addressing such but it would be nice for Kz to label such in the upper end units with three tanks, (black and gray) Note: We all know it is the responsibility to ask the Dealer tech's when doing PDI's to ask such questions but adding labels would put a feather in Kz's hat showing that they care about the owners needs

Now that you mention #9, there was a time when grey water handles were actually gray and black water handles were actually black. Don't they do this anymore, or didn't KZ ever do this?

johnr Yep, mine are just that, black and gray, I have one black and two gray, but after a few questions here from OP which was what and from where maybe a sticker or reference to such might be a good idea for some not all People forget after the PDI, there is so many things covered and the excitement of getting a new owners forget to write things down or just plan forget. How well I know, after 2 slide in campers, a Class C, an now our second 5th wheel I still missed things even with my list in hand Ugh ... Anyway that my story LOL Safe Travels & Don't forget about the Kz Rally this Summer Chuck

Dealers might be wise to offer a 2 day PDI. Instead of a marathon 5 or 6 hour PDI, break it up into 3 or 4 hours the first day and 2 the second. Go through everything then leave a little time for thought and reflection before the second day. Let the customer take the feature sheet and checklist home and look it over. If you end up with a client who has better understanding, it would result in fewer call-backs about general things.

I agree johnr, Some places I have heard let you camp next to the dealership or a campgrounds near them for a few days to see how things work out, I believe jetzen bought from a dealership that did this The dealership we bought ours from stated if we found something wrong to bring it back during the 1st week, I found something wrong, called they said I could bring it back at the next available appointment a month and a half away (slapping head) I should have known looking at their lot and shop ... I believe were the question came up was with the Durango Gold's that had two bathrooms with two black tanks an one gray. The question was which black handle went to which black tank, not so much of black and gray handles but what went where Chuck & Hildi
