1. Moved the headboard up about 6" so the upgraded mattress fits under, the mattress is 3 time what the standard is. Staples, staples, and more staples screws would hold better and you can use less and likely save money. Just wouldn't be as fast. 2. Changed the fan to one with lighting as the ceiling lights are all on or all off. Adding the fan lights gives a softer light, I could not find a light kit that fit the original fan. 3. The bed lift supports are stapled in place. One came loose so I screwed the blocks in place of the supports.

Good question Walter It states that we have a King size mattress in our trailer, but it may be wide enough to be a King but it seems pretty short. We both are not tall people, DW is 5.1" and I am 5.6" and if I slide down a bit my feet are hanging out, that did n't happen in our other 5th wheel. We like the bed, it's pretty conferrable and the DW have memory foam on her side besides but it just seems short Also jetzen, I wonder how Edd505's slides deal with his fan ... Chuck

Edd505, Same thing happened to my lift supports, only the bottom frame mounted ones. I reattached them and drilled through the support and frame and bolted them on. Not going to come off anymore. The top ones I added a couple drywall screws down from the top, all good now. Another thing on ours was all the drawer glides were loose. Nice idea with the addition to the ceiling fan. I have noticed looking at pictures on here that our unit has darker walls than most, I find that interesting. All pictures I've seen with newer units have white walls. KZ must have made an interior color change. Happy Campin....

chuck, I was aware of the four interior décor choices but not a choice in wall colors. All units we looked at in 2016 had the darker walls, interesting. Could be it was specific to the 2500's, don't know. Happy Campin....

The mattress that comes with the Durango's is a RV King. they are residential king length at 80" but are RV width at 72" not residential width of 78". They are constructed of gel memory foam. I wanted to see if Ed505 put in a queen to give him more room in the bedroom area. Compared to my last 5'ver I feel the bed room on the 384's is huge. Also of all the Durango's the 384's have the tallest slides which is why there is no ceiling fan. With the slides closed there is less than 5" between the interior slide flange and the ceiling and there is only 32" between the street side and curb side slide flanges which will limit the diameter of the fan blades but I am working on a solution.

Could be it was specific to the 2500's, don't know. Happy Campin.... There is only 3 interior color choices on a Durango Gold and the walls are all the same color. You have 2 leatherette (and yes they are fake) and 1 cloth choice. At one time there was a choice in the color for the headboard but now there is only one. The interiors are either alabaster (cream) or aurora (chocolate) for the leatherette and galaxy (green/gray) for the cloth. All headboards are now aurora.
And I might be wrong on this but the Gold 384 is the only one that has the exterior paint option, here again I may be wrong on that one.
I don't believe the Durango 1500 and 2500 have a cloth option they are all leatherette and have the same color choice in alabaster and aurora and the third choice being driftwood which is a medium brown.
At one time I do believe they all offered a black option.
The cabinetry/wood color and counter top color change it seems like every 3rd year.

Jetzen Thank you for all that I was thinking, why not put the fan were the two drop lights are over the sink, would that be to much of a drop to do any good, or would it hit you in the head with the blades Ugh Ugh looking at the pictures on the Kz web site, it looks like if you put the fan were the lights are the blades may hit the kitchen slide when closed I keep thinking of things, one of the reasons we like the Kz 5th wheels was because they were so bright inside, most of the other brands we looked at, in fact all except the Kz units were dark inside even with the lighting. I believe that is one of the biggest reasons were made the choice to buy the G384 we have now, it was bright inside Chuck

jetzen I cut the plywood on the bed to queen size to add room to the sides. I can now put my CPAP on the floor next to the head of the bed and can operate the slide with it in place. The fan is the same width as the original, 42" if I recall correct. It's between the theater chairs and the fireplace close to the foot of the couch. I learned from my last 5W to secure the chains for the lights & fan, they can tangle and with the heavy ends I did not want to break a globe. G353RKT floor plan - fans in the large open area
