We have just purchased a Sportsman 190, and would like to get some advice regarding a tv wall mount. The mounting surface provided is thin, small, and mounted too high on the wall for a standard TV mount. Have others been successful with some type of tv wall mount, and how did you do it?

I have an Escalade but assume the 1/4" luan is the same wall matterial. I mounted a 26" in the bedroom. I cut a 1/2" piece of plywood about the same size as my TV and screwed it to the wall in many places. I was able to find a few solid areas and used 1 1/4" screws there and 1" everwhere else. Bought a wall mount from Target and attached that to the plywood. Been from Florida to Alberta and back in that time and its still up there. (the TV) Not sure how your trailer is configured but on mine it fit nicely against the wall.

I have a 19" flat screen with DVD mounted using a Mor/Ryde television mount similar to this in my Spree Escape... www.morryde.com/aftermarket/tv-mounts/full-motion-wall-mount-with-extension-76.html I used 1" screws and place the mounting brackets. I have two TV antenna outlets. One bracket is mounted in the rear near the bed at the spot marked with the sticker saying "mount TV here". The other bracket is mounted near the sofa and dinette where a stud is located in the rear wall (dealer showed me the spot).

I just purchased an Escape E18RBT from the Toronto RV Show last month (Niagara Trailers)and planned to put a similar wall mount to support a 19" TV. My camper remains at the dealer for storage until the Spring of 2013 so I am just window shopping for accessories now. I was thinking of mounting the same TV mount as Mike to the side of the closet wall next to the Dinette. I will need to make sure the mount does not conflict with head space from the bench seat in the dinette. (will have to do some measuring in the spring as I wanted to go with a 19" TV in that location).

Ah, nothing like kicking back and watching the boys at Talladega! Oh, and thanks for the neat TV mount info.
