We bought our Spree 240BHS new. It came from the factory with the carbon monoxide/propane detector wired through the bathroom light switch, so it would only work if the bathroom light was on. The dealer fixed this for us, but this is a serious life safety device, that absolutely should be properly installed and functioning. I've been in emergency services for many years, including as a fire inspector/investigator, so I notice these little things that others might not. I would encourage everyone, as we pull our rigs out of winter storage for summer adventures, to please check your CO/LPG and smoke detectors and put fresh batteries in those that take them. (and make sure the bathroom light is off when you check the CO\LPG detector). Per the manufacturers, CO detectors are typically good for 3-5 years, while most smoke detectors should be replaced every 10 years. The life you save could be you own (kinda cheesy but true!).
Happy Trails!
I'm curious to know if this was a 1-time mistake, or if others have experienced the same. Not to be too melodramatic but, no one wants to see a wrongful death liability lawsuit over a simple wiring mistake!
