73jer ,
Forgot to tell you mine are Carefree toppers, same brand as the awnings. Everything matches. I was told by someone that Carefree or A&E really doesn't matter they are both good. I think that Carefree are less expensive.
I was told that when the curb side slide has the 2nd awning installed it does not give you enough room at the top to mount the roller for the slide topper. I ordered the slide topper package from the factory just to see what would happen. I actually thought that it would come without the toppers because it states that slide toppers are N/A with the 2nd awning. To my surprise when the trailer arrived it had the street side toppers on it. It was actually less expensive for the factory to put them on than if they were installed by the dealer.

73jer,
As jetzen stated you can not put a slide topper on the curb side slide, I have the same as jetzen Carefree toppers but only on the drivers side slides, the reason I was told is because of the position of the awning on the slide, no room at the top ...
Something I'd like to see if that can be changed when we are at the Rally ...
jetzen, send me a picture of you curb side awning to my email, like to see how they did it. maybe I can get one put on at the Rally who knows ...
jetzen Pictures to small to really see in you post but it dozen't look like you have the awning installed on the curb side side is that correct

click on individual photos to enlarge, once photo is loaded click again to make even bigger. I do not have a curb side slide topper, only street side.
Chuck this can not be changed because of the height of the dining room windows and where the awning anchor and roller tube must go. It does not leave enough room for the slide topper roller tube and tube anchors.

I was told by and RV Tech several years ago that when ordering toppers you want and try and get the material that has the folded edge and sewed not just the cut edge exposed, he said the cut edge is more app to tear in the wind and deteriorate faster in the sun, I guess food for thought...

I had my dealer install toppers on the road side slides before I took delivery on my 366fbt and I also agree that that is a factory oversight that you can't put an awning topper on the curb side slide. I have had 4 other 5th wheels and ALL had slide toppers on all slides. I am unhappy with the way this unit does not seem to sweep all the water off the top of the slide when it is retracted. every time i had the unit out in the rain, when i retracted it, there was a small amount of water that dripped of f the roof of the slide INSIDE THE COACH.! Not a happy camper. the dealer said slide seal was tight and that was not unusual. "i might need to sweep the roof before retracting". I never had to do that with any of my previous units. What say you, anyone else having this situation?

brmike,
I had that same problem with my last 5ver except I had it with all the slides. I did not have slide toppers on any slide on that unit.
Have not noticed it yet with this one but I am sure that if you are having it happen so will I.
The only real oversite I feel on my unit is the lack of a ceiling fan. They claim because of the height of the curb side slide (which is taller than yours) that the fan would not clear the interior flange when the slides are in. Once the unit is out of warranty I will tackle that problem.

In retrospect I can see that the extra awning is probably more important than the topper. On my unit, all those windows would let in a lot of heat and sunlight. The extra awning does shield the inside of the coach from that. The only other option I could see would be to put individual pull down awnings over each window. I have done that on previous units, but it is expensive and requires that you pull each one down manually and secure it with a strap. But it does work. If I had ordered my unit instead of buying an "in stock" one that is probably what I would have done.

Jetzen When closing my curb side slide I have not gotten any water in yet after being out in the rain for three days That is to say it won't happen in the future but I am hoping for the best I understand about the window being to big, again I think this is something that needs to be addressed at the rally when talking with Kz. Mind you not bitching but stating a fact that this was to me bad engineering and it would help other owners in the future who would like us not want to climb on top of the trailer to sweep off leaves an prevent extra water laying on top of the slide I'm also with brmike, I would have opted for a manual awning if it would have let me put a slide topper on, but like him as you know we bought direct from the dealer (Show model) Chuck

I think brmike was talking about individual window awnings
