Do I need to treat the skylight with anything.

If it's faded already not much you can do except maybe wax the top to prevent it from fading any more or replace it with something newer of the same size .... Since it 7 years old I do not believe Kz would have the skylight any more but ask one of their dealers, you never know Safe Travels Chuck

I check my roof once a year for any potential issues. Check around objects (like skylights, vent pipes, etc.) for any signs of cracked or missing caulking. I address anything I see that looks like an issue. I have never treated the plastic of my skylights with anything, but I do store it inside.

Just replaced my skylight it started leaking. Love how clear the new one is. Do i have to use the inner piece. Love how much light comes in without it.

It should be installed according to manufacturer recommendations. A lot of bathroom skylights have a clear outer shell, then an "obscure" inner piece to block, well, peepers. Lyle
