I'm sure this has been discussed many times over. So I'm reaching out for advise and to get DW off my back. Purchased an 366 Gold last month and already had my Winegard so I was set. Wife could watch tv whenever she wanted.
Problem Starts-- I follow diagram given on how to make system work. All coax wires put in place where stated and nothing ---- can't locate satellite signal---- swap coax wires thinking factory has connection backwards --- same thing can't find signal.
Disconnected everything ran wire thru window to TV from satellite ---- waited for system to do its part BAM I have signal now we can watch TV.. Had a brain storm since I have signal locked in I go and run coax as to how should be with camper connection ---- can't locate satellite signal
Any idea what can be issue as to not getting satellite feed thru camper connections.....

Hi, Cajuncamp. Go down in the General RV Questions to February 17th under the topic Proper Satellite Hook-Up and you will see the answers to my identical question. However, I have been very busy and have not had the time to really check into this with the answers provided. I've just been using local channels scanned in on the tv in the meanwhile until I do get the time to work on it. Hope some of these answers help you.

Cajuncamp,
I don't have the "exact" equipment you have but, when I used my Directv box from my house I had the same issue as you have described. I found that I had the antenna booster on. Once I turned the antenna booster off it worked fine. Hope this Helps.

Thanks for the input I did try both ways with booster on and off. System still wouldn't pick up signal. If all else I will take down pass thru wall and start tracing wires

I have been having problems with our satellite system also. We have dish and when hooked up to the cable in the rig we get nothing. Attach directly to box and we get the satellite's. Last year we even bought a new movable satellite from dish and it worked for 4 months. Put the Durango in storage for 6 months and now back on the road. It is not working again! Have tried with and without the tv antenna on. Since the rig is pre-wired for satellite I sure would love to be able to get it to work through the wiring. Any help would be appreciated. I can not figure out why it will not work again, what we could possibly be doing different from last year.

Hi, rver. One thing on the automatic dishes, at least on mine, is that you have to hook everything up first, then plug in the ac power cord last. You probably know this, but thought I would mention it just in case it slipped your memory since last year. I know I get CRS disease (can't remember s___) very frequently.

Another thing to think about - the number of connections you have when you run thru the campers' system. I used to use a regular dish for our satellite, finally got the automatic because the DW was tired of hearing the tones while setting up. The automatic doesn't carry the same strength of signal, everytime you go thru another set of connections you will lose signal strength. That's why you will have signal going thru the window or slide, but not thru the camper wiring. I'm guessing as it sat in storage it either got a tiny bit of corrosion, or as you towed it to storage a hidden connection worked a bit loose. just some things to think about.

While taking our new G384RLT out on it's shake-down we found we could not pickup cable signals from the provided hookup. I had the cable going directly into the "Cable In" on the RV from the site and only picked up 12 channels of the 35 being provided - Head Scratching.. When I tried hooking up my cable box from home it only got worst, only 3 channels. The camp host dropped by to see if everything was going OK and told me to try this hookup when not hooking directly into the RV. Run the cable directly from the campsite pole to the (IN) side of the cable box, run another cable directly from the cable box (TO TV) to the cable hookup on the 5th wheel. BTW make sure your antenna power booster is OFF. Now come the weird part, set you TV's setting to AIR instead of CABLE. Don't ask me why but it worked, all TV's got excellent results. Only downside was one channel, all tv's. Don't know if it's the same with satellite hookup but who knows..........

Sounds like you need to go back to the cable setting and try some more. The one channel you got on the air setting is the one channel being supplied in digital.

Lynnmor, The original settings I was referring to were the Cable setting. I'll be spending more time researching this issue when we head out for the 4th.
