I can't say I ever stop at one while traveling. When we're on the go, I like to go to places that we don't have near home. After a bad experience overnighting at a Walmart, we don't stay anywhere except real campgrounds.
Our dog groomer is near a Cracker Barrel, so when we take the little guy for grooming, we'll stop for breakfast.

I eat at Cracker Barrel occasionally as there is one less than 10 minutes from my house. I don't normally stop there while traveling. As stated by johnr, I like to try new places while traveling (as long as they have enough parking for my truck and 35 ft trailer.)

One of the reasons we purchased the 5th wheel we have is that everything is accessible on the inside without opening the slides, it was the same with our old 5ver. Most of our traveling (about 90%) is from NE Ohio to Bradenton Florida (this fall it will be Arcadia Fl.). Our normal routine is to leave our home early in the morning 7-8am and drive to Tamarac service plaza on interstate 77 in West Virginia. This is a great service plaza as it is easy in and out at the fuel pumps and has ample space to park. After getting fuel there we almost always pull into a parking spot and make some lunch. More on Tamarac later. We leave Tamarac and head south and travel till we get to the Cracker Barrel in Kingsland Georgia on interstate 95. We pull the rig in a RV parking spot(s) under the trees and go in and eat dinner. We stay at the Cracker Barrel overnight and in the morning wake up to fresh hot coffee. We then leave and finish our journey into Florida to our RV park.
Coming home we do the exact opposite except we also eat dinner and over night at the Tamarac service Plaza. They have a wonderful restaurant there that is owned and operated by the Greenbrier resort.
We love to search out new and interesting places to visit and eat but while traveling we tend to play it safe and go to the places that I know we can get the truck and trailer in and out with ease, that has easy access (in & out) to fuel, are not far off the interstate, and places that I consider to have good food (it doesn't have to be gourmet) not fast food.
If I was unhooking the trailer and staying for a few days I would most definitely consider exploring the area.
Some of you might ask "aren't you afraid of something bad happening to you". And the answer is and will always be YES, that thought is always there, but bad this can happen to you no matter where you are and I try not to let it effect my decisions. It is one of the reasons I try not to overnight in Walmart. It is also one of the reasons why I am no longer returning to the RV park that we stayed at for so long in Bradenton. The DW and I were just getting tired of hearing the gun shots, while they were off in a distance (blocks away) none the less they were still there.

We try to stay in camp grounds while on the road, even if it's overnight, I pick Good Sam camp grounds ratings of over 7 or 8 and have had pretty good luck overall ... We like to stay away from the bigger cities thus we have better luck calling a day ahead or in some case the morning we leave from a camp ground we were at. I like to drive at least 5 hours with stops for fuel and lunch, sometimes maybe longer thus we get about 350 to 400 miles day depending on the weather Safe Travels & Don't forget about the Kz Rally this Summer chuck

Watch out for the Cracker Barrel off Blue Diamond Blvd. in Las Vegas next too the Bass Pro shop and Silverton casino. Stopped there last month for breakfast with the 5TH wheel in tow, parked at the end of the lot with no one around and when we came back out (45min) later had a notice on the wind shield stating that truck and trailer combinations are not allowed and advised to park in the T/A truck stop on Blue Diamond and walk over. I don't think so... Won't stop there anymore, with or without the 5TH wheel. Restaurant is small and the food wasn't that great, have never had an issue at any other one across the country. Happy Campin....

RdRmr,
Are you sure it was Cracker Barrel that tagged you and not some A-hole that was pissed that you took up more than one space.
I have had that happen to me in a Long Horn steak house in Florida. Someone bitched that I was taking up more than 1 spot.
That is one of the things that Cracker Barrel is known for is RV parking.
I was just on Cracker Barrel's web site and there are 2 in the Las Vegas area.
2815 E. Craig Rd which is in North Las Vegas
8350 Dean Martin Dr which is in South Las Vegas This is the one you were at.
According to Cracker Barrels web site both offer Bus/RV Parking

jetzen,
Nope it was a printed sheet from Silverton casino security. It stated I had to vacate within twenty four hours (no time and date stamp), but yet parked nearer the casino were about six pickup trucks with box and flatbed trailers, go figure. The Cracker Barrel, Bass Pro shop and Silverton casino share the parking lots. I parked close to the restaurant side of the lot and still out of everyone's way in the back. Closest vehicles near us were two rows away. Needless to say I was a bit ticked. There are no designated RV spaces at this Cracker Barrel. Interesting that their web site states they have RV parking. Haven't stopped at the northern one, both haven't been open that long. Oh well, it is what it is. Happy Campin....

We used to make sure Cracker Barrels were on our itinerary. Then we stopped at one in Kansas where the service was so slow and sloppy and the food was so bad, we have never eaten there since. In all fairness, we should give them another shot. GD

In all fairness, we should give them another shot. GD Just like anything else there is always a couple of bad ones. I know of several and avoid them but most have been very good and everyone that I have been to is RV friendly meaning they will let you overnight in the parking lot.
While their RV parking is meant for smaller RV's and busses I can usually find a spot that is out of the way of the major traffic flow and open a slide or two for the evening.

I have left my truck & car trailer in the Silverton lot with no issues, but they do get strangely strict about parking within the lines. The DW and I ate at that CB last December (staying at the Oasis across the freeway) and were unimpressed. After hearing about this, don't think I will make that CB a destination.

We like Cracker Barrel, especially for breakfast. I've never camped in their parking lots but have visited them while towing fifth wheels, boats, and other trailers many times. Never had an issue.
