I have a 2000 Sportsman 5th wheel. I need an owners manual for information on holding tanks capacities and such. I called the mfg. and they said it was not available, and emailed me a generic, one size fits all manual. That really doesn't help.
I would also like to know if there are any hacks in regard to a drill adapter to raise and lower the landing gear. It has what I would call a kidney bean shaped shaft that the handle fits on...... and is it possible to attach an electric motor to the existing manual system.
Thanks in advance.

thecupster 1st of all what model do you have, there are a number of 2000 Sportsmen 5th wheels Looking at the KZ Web site www.kz-rv.com/products/sportsmen-travel-trailers-and-fifth-wheels/specifications.htmlI would bet that they may not have changed that much. maybe not This is a good reason to come to the Kz Rally were you can have a face to face with the Factory Techs ..... Most MFG as you found out have generic one covers all type of manuals ... A while back I saw a fellow that have a 3/4 inch drill that he had hooked to the landing gear, he has welded the end of a extension of the were the crank went .... I do not know how amy time he could lower or rise his jacks but the one time I saw him do it, it worked pretty well ... I used a drill to lower and rise the stabilizer jack on the back of our old 5th wheel, worked pretty well and now cranking .... Safe Travels Chuck

I think its maybe a 245. I'm not at home and don't remember. Can an electric motor be directly fitted to the landing gear box?

I do not see why you could not connect a electric motor to a landing gear, if you are going to do such it should be a 12 volt system just in case you are out someplace without regular 120v power...
Best advice I can give is to look into a new system from LCI, I think they could match the landing gear systems to your unit much easier that you trying to do it yourself ...
Again this may be a very good reason to attend the Kz Rally were LCI tech's along with Kz techs will be there and willing to give you much more information and even maybe install a new landing gear system of course at you cost ...
The other only option I can think of is to contact a RV junk year an see if they have anything that would fit you 5th wheel, but again getting the system from the bone yard, then getting someone to install it, or install it yourself ...
